Funny thing. I’ve yet, in over 7 decades, heard a group of people speak with one voice, and I doubt seriously a single one of the “groups” you identify have spoken to you, personally. Starving for attention?

I agree
We already know what is being done with the plane donated by Quatar. Look it up yourself.

Truth is truth, and anything less is not. Heaven, my friend, is a truth one obtains on one’s own, and by no one else. Sorry. Some things require personal experience, only. It’s not on any periodic table.

Simple. Politics is a full spectrum that goes respectively further right than Republicans, and further left than Demos, as well as further left in the R Party and further right in the D Party. Get it? Yet? I’ve been around over 7 decades. Experience, boyo, has no fast track.

Right. Blame God. Try some new explanation. I am sick and tired of that old myth. Own your own loaded diaper, boyo. No one one else, including Gods, is responsible.
You want to explain 200 years of technology explosion by aliens.
How about in 66 years from a flight a few feet off the ground to a flight to the moon and back with a solid track record of tech advance entirely within a human scale? How about breaking the sound barrier within 2 years of my birth to nearly 33 times that speed, again without a shred of evidence of alien participation in less than 20 years? Get it, boyo? Man. Accomplishing miracles. Now.

by animal consciousness, are you saying self-awareness, as in capability to recognize themselves when looking in a mirror, for example? I believe that is possible with some animals - a learned behavior, probably.

I have read that some scientists have offered that consciousness may also be the primary factor in lucid dreaming - normally not a "wakeful" experience, but certainly aware, in a sense.
I buy slaughtered chicken and lamb from a neighbor, and very rarely I buy filet mignon from a farm I know and have visited over the hill in Colorado grown on exclusively grown, non-GMO organic fed beef. No nasties in any of it.
Why would Trump take anything from the White House. He already has better housing than that. Mar-a-Lago is bigger and more elegant than the White House is or will be by considerable square footage and accommodations. Not to mention other owned facilities around the world.

what's wrong with heaven? "Lumionous beings are we, not this crude matter." - Yoda, to Skywalker, "The Empire Strikes Back."
Maybe fantastic to you. Not fantasy, but truth to me. Truth beats fear any day of the week.
Neither conspiracy, nor wish, nor head-ion-sand. Familiarity breddss contempt, on my book.
Did I say we should continue to user petroleum? No, I did not. Until we develop something betters, however, what else will provide energy that is needed? Not green. That has failed its dream. You want to find deception, look to green It's just racist against other natural colors. And I know the Earth is not flat. Everytime I have flown to Europe or Asia [multiple dozens of times in my career[, I have been at altitude sufficient to see the curvature of Earth, and I know it is not warps portholes, for everything that should be flat on the ground is flat through the porthole.. Just another of your conspiracies.
I actually grow about 80% of the fresh fruits and veggies I eat, and do not buy meat at the grocery store. I am more self sufficient than the average shopper. Although I have 10 acres, I need less than an acre for annual produce. I also have a sizable 3-season stream across my property that provides fish - trout, my most frequent protein-source.
Yes, and, by experience, I have learnd that I am a better chef, using better ingredients than any fast-food provides.

Purpose of suffering does not end with end of life. That merely ends suffering for the righteous, but suffering continues for the evil among us. And all of that is dependent on whether we have made righteous or evil user of our practice of dominion on earth. If we have made righteous use of our dominion, in spite of experiencing suffering on earth, we will ultimately benefit by our righteous dominion, and our suffering will be rewarded with glory. If not, we will not be glorified, but will continue suffering to a degree we cannot now imagine. Regret for evil doing can be very painful, mores than the fire and brimstone often copnclude4de as beings hell. Nope. Hell is a shop window with no door into the shop, knowing, finally, doors have been restricted for those who were evil on earth.
fauxlaw · a year ago
Okay, time for me to chime in.
God allows our suffering simply due to the fact that he granted us free will, and, associated with that, gave us dominion of the Earth, meaning that, past the creation events of six periods of time [the more proper understanding of the Hebrew term, "yom" [day] as given in Genesis. Considering that until the fourth day, when the sun and moon were created, we could not count creation events in "days" of 24 hours, could we? That's over 60% of the creation process, however long it really occupied. Couple that with tyke fact that the entire Genesis "genealogy" description contained gaps of time not accounted for, the assumed "6,000 years" to Adam is also conjecture. I digress.
Being given "dominion," God, in essence, backed away from being a " root cause" of events, while maintaining contact with us to guide, but not to coerce. We, ourselves, but for coercion by someone else, are responsible for our suffering. WE may blame presidents and magistrates, and even out next-door neighbors for distressing events in our lives, but that is still "us," not God. We say, seven fir allowing that God allows suffering, that he is responsible for us, because he cult have "stepped in" to stop something. But, how doers that align with his promise to give us Dominion? The two just don't make sense. Nor do I believe Adam and Eveare responsible for ur lot in life. Nope, the atonement of Christ removed that link; we are responsible for ourselves, just as Adam and Eve were for themselves, and why take Christ out of the equation? Original sin? No, that just negates Christ's atonement. I don't agree we should accept that.
Why me? I'm not even a McDonald's customer. I do not frequent fast-food "restaurants." And I shop only the perimeter of grocery stores. Fresh food, you know, not processed.
I have hard it said by private industry professionals as well as Trump that the successful application of A.I. will require more energy produced than currently produced and used for all other purposes. If green thinks it is the answer to that, when it can provide only 20% of the energy grid produced now, then green does not understand its own limitations, and never did. Just one of its limitations is believing petroleum is not a renewable product. Why not? It's organic and the process of producing it has not stopped, as some greenies attest. What, exactly, stopped that process of crude production? Death of the dinosaurs? They we're not and are not the only organic material on earth. Just by sheer population growth of life on Earth, production of crude continues to this day. And, frankly, we do. not know how long the crude production takes to accomplish. Not a clue.

Pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters that have variable value over the currency value. A few nickels [3] and 1 quarter have significant value over currency value - enough to be surprised by her casual collection effort. A fourth nickel [1943] has two "shadow" impressions on either side of the mint i.d. which is not discussed in any online reference she has found so far, so we have no idea what that one may be worth. She also has a few 19th century minted Morgan silver dollars she was given by her father for successive birthdays as a child. She also has one 1964-minted Kennedy half-dollar; the only year minted with 90% silver content. Why their worth? because collectors are willing to pay big bucks for them.

In some cases, data from DabateArt have migrated over to DebateCraft, but this is still a site in alpha-mode, so, give it time to be corrected.
That sounds like something straight out of the TV series, "Ancient Aliens," a series that, for one thing, completely denigrates the ability of man on Earth to innovate anything. According to A.A., man is a country bumpkin who could not innovate a spoon without alien assistance. But, hell, they also said in one episode, that three amino acids [which they did not bother to identify] make up the DNA molecule's two "backbones." Wrong, there are 4 of them: adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C), and guanine (G), but, I suppose, the ancients weren't talking to us that day. I*';ve seen other gross errors made by that TV production to know their premise is bogus, let alone anything else they claim.

4 We brought suffering into the world ourselves. I agree with this, as well.
But I do not buy the concept of original sin, because I belief the atonement of Christ completely dissolved the effect of Adam and Eve on us. We do not bear their stain at all; they, alone, bear that stain, subject to their own ability to repent of it. And, I do not buy the Catholic nor Protestant view of repentance, that it is acceptable to sin, go to a priest or pastor to absolve us, and yet sin again, rinse and repeat. I believe we truly repent only when we are able to express sorrow for a sin, and turn our heart away from that sin to resist repeating it. Until we can do that, we have not yet successfully repented. And we do that over and over again, hopefully just for separate sins we commit, eventually perfecting ourselves of committing any sin at all. It is a lifelong process that is achievable. Otherwise, Christ’s atonement is meaningless, and we are in denial of it.

3 Suffering exists because without it, happiness and pleasure could not. I entirely agree with this statement, though disagree with your conclusion. The degree of sufferings we endure is entirely of our own making due to our personal variability to be obedient to God’s commands. Were we perfect, we would be in full agreement 100% of the time, but we are not perfect, though expected to try to be so. To the degree that we succeed, we may yet suffer, for it is nearly impossible to sustain an ability to continue stepping up the scale of perfection. We step up, step back, so on and so on…

2 Suffering exists because God wants us to have free will. I entirely agree with this. Without our free will, the entire purpose of our existence is thwarted. But I believe you are wrong in the claim that the Bible is void of this concept. “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:” [Holy Bible [KJV] Gen. 2: 16]. That there are consequences to our free choices is obvious, and we know that in the choice of eating of the tree of knowledge “…in that day, thou shalt surely die,” but “death” has several meanings, physical and spiritual. Physical death is a singular occurrence, but spiritual death, which implies separation from God, may occur multiple times in life. We know Adam and Eve did not physically die for generations beyond expulsion from Eden - separated from God.

1 Suffering serves some constructive purpose. I entirely agree. I think it always does, even in instances when our suffering is due not our own folly. However, I disagree that God can ever be blamed for our suffering, regardless of severity. Contrary to some who believe that God is the total cause of everything, good or bad, which occurs to us, I believe God is almost never the total cause of anything which occurs. Yes, I believe God created "heaven and earth" as is described in Genesis, but, since I believe in multiple gods, many of whom we have nothing to do with, and who all in some respects have been creators, the universe is a construct that is not the complete work of any of them. They each have "creation" of portions of it, always abiding by natural laws, therefore, I do not believe "heaven" means the entire universe, but only a portion of it, including our Earth. It may extend only insofar as our galaxy - my personal belief.
I assume by the truncated story that we do not know what Gary did to prompt being punted in the face to cause him to piss in the first place. Considering Newton's 3rd law, did Gary first punt us in the gonads and cause us to puke in the ball pit? Not cool in the first place.

You post #1 {3} is erroneous. Accordng to https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0960982212011529 land-based, not water-based, biological life is more prevalent on Earth. Landed organisms amount to approx. 80% of all lite on Earth.
Also, you seem to equate {8} and {9} [spirit and soul] as being synonymous. No, They are separate entities. The spirit is that part of us ordinating in heaven before our birth. The soul is the spirit and physical body, combined; i.e., a living, breathing, mortal organism which will be, by resurrection, an eternal being of spirit and physical body, combined, never again to be separated by death.
