Alright I'm re-reading this game and here are my reads after re-evaluating everything. The goal of this day phase is to lynch original scum.

Whiteflame - Ascetic

Scum being an ascetic is far too strong. WF admitted to receiving a contract and stated he declined it. Thoth basically admitted that a town ascetic can be recruited and receive contracts which points heavily towards an ascetic actually being in the game. WF is probably original town.

Rex - Contract Cop

This is very much a hard town read. Contract cop makes sense and pie claimed Thoth stated there was a custom role. This is basically the only role that I see as custom with maybe the exception of my role. In addition post #373 in d2 is literally the towniest thing I've ever read. Conclusion: Definitely not original scum

Vader - Sayaka Miki - 2x Redirector

My character is Sayaka. My character has a really good sense of movement and flow because they appreciate classical music and are also energetic and open to change.

I am not sure how to read vader and not sure how to read this slot. N1: Claimed to have targeted Casey / Mikal Magic2man and had it redirected onto magic1man (the doctor). Claimed to waive n2 action.

What I really do not like is that his first post he only claimed his first target and not his second target. It wasn't until later until he stated his second target. I initially hard town read this slot because he stated he had a hidden ability that wasn't used and this was confirmed by the day 2 OP and no one counter-claimed. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about Vader.

Mag2cman / Casey / Mikal- Kyoko Sakura - Inspector

Her father kills his family and himself, except for her. She’s made an orphan and forced to develop street smarts, making her more observant of the world around her. Hence inspector.

Claimed that n1 and n2 target was pie. N1 someone visited them and n2 no one visited them. I'm really unsure on how to read this slot and hate that two people prior to mag2cman played this slot. Re-reading the previous day phase it does make sense that mag1cman protected the claimed inspector as this can be a very OP town role. Note: I confirmed with the moderator that if an inspector inspects someone who received a contract offer then the inspector would see them being visited. These results do check out and are consistent.

Wryly - Kyosuke Kamijo - ???

Not much to say on this slot other than this is one of the towniest people I think I have ever seen.

Pie - Mami Tomoe - ???

I don’t have anything to mod confirm myself, but I would like to wait till DP4 to claim and would ideally like to be rolecopped as I think it would solve the game DP4

I really detest that he's waiting until day 4 to claim. I admit that I'm always paranoid of pie, but this really rubs me the wrong way. The issue I have here is that he stated hew anted to be rolecopped and there's no role cop in the game that can possibly investigate. He also admited he had no way to mod confirm themself. I honestly have pie as my strongest OG claim for refusing to claim until day 4 and admitting that there's nothing he has to confirm himself.

POE for OG Scum is Vader/Pie.

VTL PIE

Pie you need to claim.

So you knew straight out of the gate that there was a contract mechanic involved because of your role. I assume DP1 you were pumping Thoth for details. What contract? Who gives it? What happens if I target Kyubey? Will my role even work NP1 or do players not count as recruited until NP2 because the recruitment counts as an NP1 action? Would like to know what Thoth's answers were.

The role PM simply implied the existence of a recruitment contract that players could either accept or decline. I figured that it would be unbalanced for more than one player to accept. The main utility that my role has is catching someone out in a lie. I did not want anyone to be wise to that, otherwise they would not feel comfortable lying, their guard would be up. So, I goaded Kohai in other ways once he wasn't being forthcoming, and I wanted to get one more shot fired off on someone else who claimed not to have accepted before I claimed and made myself a target. When I prodded Thoth on Kyubey once people who know the theme better than me had explained it, he was a bit cagey, only saying that there were certain players that it would fail on. I imagine he didn't want to reveal too much theme info DP1, he mostly limited his answers to mechanical ones about how my role would get various results. Once you claimed I figured you might be one of them and I'm guessing that Kyubey might be another.

Exactly this. Your result proved that I was honest from the start and that I am not OG scum.

did you get to cop a second person n2?

Did you not read the mod note? If scum lynch a certain townie, they get the option of a roleblock or rolecop. If that person isn’t lynched, a townie gets the same abilities. I’m saying that as long as I’m rolecopped tomorrow, the game should be solvable. Odds are that we don’t lynch the target so a townie gets the rolecop. Easy.

He also admited he had no way to mod confirm themself. I honestly have pie as my strongest OG claim for refusing to claim until day 4 and admitting that there's nothing he has to confirm himself.

No one here is mod confirmed. Whiteflame isnt. Vader isn’t. REF isn’t. It’s in everyone’s best interests that I don’t claim today.

What did Thoth say happens if you cop Kyubey? What were your results on Kohai NP1?

What did Thoth say happens if you cop Kyubey?

He obliquely answered the question, implying that the action would fail. The way he answered implied that there may be other characters for whom it could fail. After your claim, I'm assuming he meant you, but I could be wrong. And it would also fail if Whiteflame is an ascetic and I targeted him. So it's not very useful for hunting for Kyubey, as you or Whiteflame could just be Kyubey and lying, or a third person could be Kyubey and I would get a failed action on them and you could both be innocent.

What were your results on Kohai NP1?

That he accepted the contract. That's why I zeroed in on him after he didn't outright state as much and started to see if he might out his new partner via his behavior.

Assuming town gets it, whoever gets it selects the Role Cop, they decide to use it on you, and scum don't interfere with it or kill them.

I'm looking over your major post on OG scum and seeing several points that you've retracted since, so I'm not sure how much of this still holds up from your perspective, but I can't understand the reasoning behind keeping Mag2c in your POE. I can understand Vader and Pie, but you went from POE is between those two to POE includes Mag2c. Also, could you be clear about what you're changing from this post? Because aside from saying it's fine that Pie hold off on claiming until DP4, I'm struggling to determine what was misread or misstated.

I get why it would be valuable to catch someone in a lie on whether they accepted the contract, even if it seems unlikely that the scum recruit would lie about accepting when they were hiding in a crowd of other players who also said they accepted the contract. Apart from my role, that's a surprising amount of fail states, especially if Kyuubey shows up the same as Kyosuke (Wryly's character). You effectively break down to three results without insight into what a failure is. That's significantly weaker than I was expecting.

So you won't get a distinct message if, for example, you get RB'd?

Edit post

ISO #168 •••
--> @RexFavilla

Danke. I was kind of hoping the role only told you if someone successfully accepted the contract, but alas. That would've been too easy.

ISO #169 •••

Pie inviting a rolecop is a point in his favor, I suppose, since it was stated that hidden abilities such as those granted to the recruit by Kyubey would show up in investigative results.

Assuming town gets it, whoever gets it selects the Role Cop, they decide to use it on you, and scum don't interfere with it or kill them.

And assuming Pie is not himself the target who could inherit the ability, in which case he could hardly rolecop himself.

Inviting the Role Cop does lend him some credence.

And assuming Pie is not himself the target who could inherit the ability, in which case he could hardly rolecop himself.

Yep, that would also be a problem. Another one I didn't include is that, since we won't know if scum lynch their target, they could always claim to use it.

Why do you townread Vader?

Edit post

ISO #176 •••

Apologies for the low activity today, got quite a bit more going on than usual. Regarding this DP, I'm between the Kohai and Vader lynches and be good with either one, though I'd lean towards the former. Just a lot of behavioral problems with Kohai so far, and the lack of clarity on many of his reads rubs me the wrong way, particularly with the unclear walking back of certain elements. Vader's always been more of a town gutread based on previous experience, and particularly his highly negative responses to me when I mentioned I didn't understand Kohai's townread on him, but his reads this DP have been very wishy-washy and I don't get why he's questioning the existence of a recruit. I'm pretty sure we can assume that based on the mass contracting and Thoth's clarifications of what it would do.

I'd consider Rex and Pie more next DP, with the latter influenced chiefly by whether/what he claims next DP (and whether that ends up being supported by a Role Cop), and the former mainly being because his behavior up until now. That combined with a novel claim that seems like it could have been faked with a couple of targets that have already been verified (also, I would have expected him to come in with a lot of the answers to the questions Wryly listed rather than having to be asked them) makes me scumread him a little, even if I think he's pretty behaviorally town with all that frustration.

Edit post

ISO #177 •••

Reads:

Kohai - As I said, he's either town or his scummate is furious. He's been pointing fingers all over the place and jumping at shadows. He's actually at the bottom of my POE for now because I just don't see how he behaves like this under guidance.

Whiteflame - Lean town. Some of Thoth's answers concerning Ascetic are encouraging, if not conclusive, and he was the first to claim after Kohai. Yes, he could've been given a fake claim, but I just don't see Homura not being in the game.

Mag1c - Town pile. His results and Vader's seem to cross verify. Like his behavior so far.

Vader - Town pile. Again seems to be cross-verified by Mag2c nee Mikal nee Casey. Mikal saw someone visiting Pie and Vader would have visited Pie when he redirected. This may be the strongest verification on anything we have so far, and would be undermined only by Mag2c and Vader being scummates, which I don't see. "We will not be lynching Vader" is not something you say about your scummate.

Rex - I said Rex always seems sus to me and that's no different now. His role claim just sounds fake to me and I can't shake it. I had to really press him for answers I would've expected him to be freer with as town. His character is an adult and based on what little I know I would expect her to be unrecruitable as well because of it, but that may just be expecting too much thematic correctness. Contract Cop seems weighted in favor of scum because the Cop can just accept the contract and now you have a crooked cop who can incriminate the innocent. My gut wants Rex to be our lynch target this DP.

Pie - Uncertain. Kind of suspicious that he's coming after Vader all the sudden, really triggering my paranoia that Vader is scum's randomly chosen target this DP. Not sure what to make of Pie's reluctance to role claim but kind of encouraged by his invitation to be rolecopped. Either he's on the up and up or scum have gotten a power which can fuck with rolecop.
