I think there was some legit reasoning for it. Its a rather weird assumption and take. Most of what Thoth said seemed to have some connection to details they knew were in the game. Then we have the aspect that there was a developed player into the ant king.

This (and the fact there is not an additional KPN in a 17p game) made me feel that them giving a pool reflected them having some mech info on who might become their Ant King. This is part of why I feel we are looking at a 3p mafia and not a 2p today. It makes sense for balance and otherwise Thoth making such a position is out of place regardless of if they replaced all the names and such.

This perhaps explains why Thoth gave a POE, but not why he put those names in particular in the POE.

I’m just coming back to another 5+ pages of this, so I still have to understand the context for this statement. Yoo Jinho is almost a nepo baby of a character to start, one who is not a powerful hunter and has gear well above his level, but is utterly incapable of handling the first gate that he’s thrown into. It’s only because Sung Jin-woo was there that he survived, and later he does stand up to his father and angles to found his own guild with SJW. I can kind of get behind him being able to acquire upgrades or even new roles, but I don’t get the Tracker at all. It just seems like such a random role gain for him.

Is there anything in the series about Jinho getting goggles specifically?

He told me he has no results. He has to "request" the goggles from his father on even nights and can use them on odds. He says he requested the goggles NP2, and NP3 would have been the first chance he would get to use them.

So to start I was given an invite to join a guild. My role I considered weak. I felt that the benefit of having a confirmed town with a chat was much more of an asset to me. I prefer to win games though actually being good instead of taking a lucky action anyways. Something about me personally I have said multiple times in my guild chat- I got tired of winning a long time ago. Now I set challenges for myself to make things interesting. This was one of them. I very specifically wanted to open wolf and when I rolled town I decided it would be fun to see if I could invert the game. Glorious situation when someone is viewed as 3p in Lylo and becomes kingmaker then demands the other players argue about who is more scummy as opposed to more town. Those were my goals for this game. I feel I was on track with people suspecting me so much as 3p. I bet a handful of you do not even know why you think I am 3p instead of mafia with all the bullshit I was doing : )

Over and over through my guild chat I voiced effort to be viewed as 3p. As people suspected me I reinforced their suspicion. Was actually a point of humor that I had to work so hard to be suspected that we had a lot of banter about in guild chat. I did a lot of work there trying to be midrange read insulating myself from KPN and setting up for a potential glorious 3p claim that would have been fucking epic and hilarious. Either of my guild mates can verify this and its not hard to see it if you Iso me as I constantly ramble about wanting to eat your children and how I am the most evil. At some point D1 I think someone even called me out and I said something along the lines of "Holy fucking shit what does it take to be scum read in this community" as I was also trying to play a lynchbait move D1 that did not pan out. Idea being you make yourself look scummy and bait an opportunistic wolf to bite then you dig. Kinda some FPS bullshit but very effective D1 strategy imo.

2. If you like to give yourself little challenges, why not be doing all that as mafia or an actual TP? The latter even has a benefit if you're trying to signal to mafia that you're TP.
3. As far as the strategy of trying to catch opportunistic mafiosos goes, the inverse of this strategy would be for scum to act a little scummy and try to paint a townie who susses it as an opportunistic mafioso. As our guild chat started I voiced heavy concerns about us outing roles and projecting intended actions. I was very up front about the fact that our discord chat would allow anyone joining after the fact would mean they can read anything posted and we should hide such information as it gives us no benefit. I also created a plan that even the guild leaders action should be vague. They should not confirm exactly what they will do but instead take advice from the guild on what should be done.

Rex claimed Miller right off the bat as well as their action. Not sure if they have claimed it but no good in me saying what that is. This is something I never let go of. I voiced to Lunatic that at any moment they wanted they could demand my claim and I would give it to them. I also cautioned that I did not think it was a good play.

Assuming this is even true (@Wryly or @Rex can confirm this) I see no reason this couldn't be said as scum. For the former, voicing a concern about something means little if you know they're gonna do it anyway (people tend to want to coordinate their actions when put in a chat together, go figure). As for the latter part: We know scum had fake claims given of some kind. We don't know in what capacity. If you think you came up with a good fake claim, that latter part is moot.

N1 Lunatic asked me if I felt we should recruit or use actions. I voiced that developing more power for the town was what I favored. I flatly voiced that I felt my power was underwhelming and not worth not recruiting.

I have no issue with this. I don't think it's inherently towny or scummy though.

For D1 I agreed that Thoth was scummy. I was the first (and only) person to really shove Alyssa. I also hammered Thoth while pushing them really hard for information. I tried to keep them engaged as I milked them for information. Everyone wagoned Alyssa post Thoth flip and in D2 I maintained in my guild chat that I felt they would flip scum but I had concerns. Lunatic even gave me shit about how much I was shoving them D1 in our chat to look at Alyssa and now that Alyssa was the elimination train I was pumping the breaks. I wanted real reasoning I could work with. That did not happen. I got a bunch of people regurgitating the same talking points and with a mafia flip we had a useless train and no counter train.

The second Mestari pointed out Alyssa in specific was implicated by Thoth's slip was the second Alyssa's fate was sealed. I don't think anyone should be given credit for being against Alyssa after that. Not you, not Kohai. The only person I give town cred for any of that is Mestari, because he would've been bussing two teammates, which I don't think is likely.

So yeah. I bitched at the town EOD2. Honestly towns macro game has been dogshit imo. Do what you want with my opinion there. Play some Bon Jovi living on a prayer as you lean on mech demanding claims and shit.

So D2 rolls around. Now I get Castin in our chat. They reported an inno check on Alyssa at some point. I missed it in the guild chat. Was not bothering to keep up with chat and am kinda low effort this game tbh. After the fact I did question that asking why they did not fight harder to defend Alyssa if they had a hard cop check on the player. This is where my distrust of them started. Somewhere in D2 Lunatic brought up that I was the only one in the chat not to claim and I again offered them to full claim or give a half claim preventing the harm of a full claim. They declined.

Ok I'm not sure I believe that they noted you were the only one not to claim and then didn't want your claim. I'm definitely gonna need Wryly and Rex to confirm this. Furthermore, if you didn't read fully what happened, this is moot.

Really stupid lynch plays out. Hit a mafia- cool... We got nothing from it because towns macro was utter garbage. I wanted things I could work with later. Voiced multiple times that the game is chess not checkers and I wanted more. We got a good flip that set town up late game for failure imo. Yes it was the conclusion but we should have created so much more.

If this is about you wanting a counterwagon earlier, it wasn't going to happen the second Alyssa self-voted. Mafia wasn't going to do anything but bus, and any town that wasn't 100% on her train earlier, was going to be after that. I know you're autistic, but from what you've posted already I get the sense that you're smart enough to know this. So any "counter wagon" would accomplish nothing but maybe farm you town cred for suggesting it.

Now D3 kicks off. Castin has a red check on pie. Ok.. Their previous green check on Alyssa was obviously bad (and this was before they were in the guild and they handled it oddly imo) but sure. Our guild leader was killed and I pushed that we should angle the situation pushing a read based shove on Pie. I was building it but struggling a bit. Rex just went yolo Leroy Jinkens claiming the hard action before I was able to post and I pushed with pressure. Cool thing that it was hiding our alignment cop that was unknown to even be a part of our team which we did discuss but obviously landed on a confirmable town. This makes 2/2 of Wyrly's results being flatly wrong. Interesting bit there. We go down this entire train of stupid as Pie refuses to verify and I push in guild chat that they should get no info until they claim. (Still have zero understanding why that was even a subject of contention in the day chat. Wtf..)

Wryly's two false results are only worth noting if you flip town imo. Cop is a bold claim, I have no reason not to believe Wryly on that for now. The idea of Wryly's being messed with on two different nights is possible, and I'd buy it sooner.

That plays out and at some point Rex decides to blow up the team. I have said my piece in guild chat about that. Rex has been a ghost sense they outed me. I have pinged them and offered to interact- they have nothing to say so far. Wyrly has been pressuring me to get with the sites meta and that I should claim which is a good look. They seem genuinely upset that I am not willing to give you guys a claim.

Thats a decent overview of what I have done this game. You guys do not get access to the 1-2k posts I have made in guild chat as I sort and hunt but I did give my people a fucking ear full about how I understand the DP players suspecting me while I feel its absolute bullshit they could not sort me in guild chat. A whole truckload of stupid got dumped on a pretty simple situation. Shining has a claim that looks fake and Pie had a red check that got sorted.

I agree Shining's claim doesn't look good, but given all that's happened, you look worse.

I'm tired af, what is it you want me to confirm? If Helz offered to claim but Lunatic said he didn't have to? It happened before I joined, but yeah. Helz said he preferred not to claim because he couldn't completely trust Rex or future guildies, but if Lunatic demanded the info he would give it. Lunatic said he wouldn't force Helz to claim unless he had reason to scumread him. Rex claimed shortly after. Then I joined and claimed the next day.

I haven’t caught up completely, but I have read through a lot of your posts, and while most of it is WIFOM writ large, I’m going to focus on the most relevant part.

I’m going to be blunt with you: I don’t buy your justification at all and your role claim sounds like an awful match for the character. I’m not voting tonight because it’s late and I’m going to want to think about this overnight, but what I’m missing is anything that makes me think “yeah, Mikal gave Helz Yoo Jinho as a character and gave him this role.” It’s a baffling, almost entirely out of left field choice that matches precisely no one else living who has claimed a character from the show.

What it matches more closely with is the pretty awful set of roles and justifications we got from Thoth and Alyssa. The most charitable thing I can say is that your Tracker claim at least is riskier, but it’s even built to reduce that, since it has this built in time delay. And none of that really helps fit the character better, either. It’s not like Yoo Jinho has to ask and wait for his father to give him supplies in the show, he just shows up with them. He does fight with his father a bit over control of the Guild he’s founding, but that’s about it. The time delay isn’t organic to his character, the Tracker doesn’t fit with his equipment. I don’t believe that Mikal just made up goggles to give town a time delayed Tracker.

And if this is your role, it just raises questions of why you’d accept a Guild invite at all. The role is useless without two NPs of night actions. You’d have to have known that recruitment was a thing and that it would render this role useless, since you wouldn’t get two NPs to use it. That means you were reliant on having some access to your other role, but you’re so intransigent about revealing it that we effectively have no way to understand why you’d even accept a Guild invite based on your claim.

All this just reeks of you having received a fake character claim, looking up the character, and trying to retrofit a role to it that you either knew wasn’t in the game or believed wouldn’t be based on Luna’s role. Alyssa and Thoth played it more conservative with their claims, but they had the same partially divorced from the reality of the show feel to them, just right enough to think they’re plausible but with a lot of problems to consider.

I’m not voting tonight, in part because I think Shining reeks of scum as well and I’m trying to figure out an order to approach this in, and in part because I’m tired and would like to approach this rested. I’ll fully admit you’ve looked behaviorally town to me for much of the game, but unless you’ve got a very good reason in the form of the second role claim for why you shouldn’t be the lynch, you’re on a very short and rapidly shrinking list.

I was mostly absent so long because I wanted to evaluate the cop's claim and decide if the cop was lying to mislead town or if they were being redirected to me, so I was kind of playing a double game. Now I'm leaning towards redirecting, and think that Helz may be our leaker.
