However taking a step back to consider things is maybe a good ideal.

The counter to a cop would be a yakuzu and the miller so it's unlikely scum have a godfather. But I also think that Yakuza is a strong enough role that you could punish the person recruited by removing their vote for the next day. Which would point to Mikal/lunatic.

The associative tells between Kohai and pie are strong though. I also think lunatic taking a stand against pie created some behavior that felt off from pie. It felt like acting from Pie if that makes sense.

I was trying to avoid being lynched and get an investigation off. At that point in time, I was the only investigative role and Luna was trying to get me lynched. He still is tunneling me.

We have time to think about this though

Here’s a possibility:

Kohai + Pie. Kohai yakuzas someone, who is a watcher. That someone is now Pie’s teammate. Pie claims that someone’s role.

That instantly loses if whoever Kohai Yakuzaed gets lynched first. Not taking that risk ever.

Anyways, I’m going to get back to the strategy I came up with in Alien Mafia. The goal is to find the OG scum first based on motives of everyone. It does require everyone to full claim so that we can determine those motivations.

High level, I think we can eliminate Luna from the category because of his early attention on Kohai. I know I’m not scum. That leaves:

Mag1c

Wylted

Thoth

Mago

Mikal

Mag1c is pure big brain. I can see the strategy with him and Kohai at EOD. Goal was to get REF so they could kill two birds with one stone and the switch to Pie was theatric. I think this is unlikely though, and my townread of him during DP1 was pretty solid.

Wylted is an interesting one. He’s pulled this Miller ploy before when he was scum with Luna. They basically cruised to the win in that game. I can see the same thing here. Take the fake claims. Soft claim Dreamer early and then come out with Miller.

Thoth also is interesting, but is reliant upon Wylted. In certain ways they’re intertwined. I don’t think Thoth can be the OG if Wylted is telling the truth about Miller.

Mago I can see being the OG scum. He was in the shadows (normal scum meta). The dynamic between him the Kohai was non existent. The questioning about Yakuza also came off a bit disingenuous to me, especially with the side quest of Tailor. No reason to believe there’s a Tailor or anything similar

Mikal is hard to judge as OG scum from posts. Only thing there to read is Kohai chose REX over Casey/Mikal initially. The role Mikal has though is really powerful for scum if used correctly. It basically reduces a town vote. At 3-2 LYLO, town instantly loses because they lose the ability to gain a majority. Magistrate is also an exotic role. We have Watcher, Miller, Doctor, Cop, and then a Magistrate?

My strategy with Yakuza (albeit fake) worked in Alien Mafia until Kohai hard threw

I don’t have a justification. It literally just says people come to me for guidance, “even Boyd”, and I was holding the Town together before Boyd arrived. That’s basically my entire character’s bio.

A question I want everyone to answer. If you were Kohai's scummate, who would you have Yakuzaed and why?

I might change my answer after more rereading, but I probably would have gone either Pie because he is a strong player and his push on me would have made WIFOMable distance, or Magoroth because I think he's a good player and I like him personally. Probably not Lunatic because his defense of me would look like buddying. Not Casey since I would never recruit an inactive without an extremely specific reason, unless I knew someone would sub for them.

Mag1c would have been a solid choice except I just know that scum chat would be an insultfest.
