Apocalypse Mafia - DP1

It’s fine. I had a feeling it was going to be me because I ended up scum reading Magic for the same reasons Luna did in his read unironically as I going through the DP so figured it would. I’m in a role transition that I found out I would be getting last week and need to go through a lot of training. Trying to find time to type

Role transition for IRL job, not actual mafia. Needed to clarify that

Hopefully it's at least a good transition, though adjusting and training for it is clearly drawing a lot of your focus. Hope it goes well.

I won’t claim character or justification. I will however claim tree stump (now you know why I was hesitant to claim). Unfortunately y’all can ML me for the upteenth time but y’all are stuck with me the rest of the game

Pie - 100% Town

Thoth - Lean Scum - There’s nothing going on with Thoth that I feel comfortable about. First it’s the PM thing. It’s NAI, I don’t see the need to talk about it as town, but as scum, it’s a conditioning argument. If town is primed that Thoth’s PM isn’t reliable, then they will buy stuff that is obviously a slip. Then I’ve asked him 5 times why he’s voting me. Crickets. Just lurks for most of the day, and then just now moves to Vader, where the wind is blowing. Note that I called out Vader first. Just doesn’t feel authentic to me

Vader - Lean Scum - I called this out early on before anyone. Another case of go where the wind blows, but if i remember correctly, this is his scum meta. There haven’t been many independent ideas, just an urge to fit in and prevent isolating himself. It’s classic mafia behavior 101z

Kohai - Null - We need to push him for a full claim. It gives us a boatload of info. If the claim is rock solid, he’s either town, or has a partner who is effective are crafting fake claims ie Mag1c, WF, Luna.

Whiteflame - Null - I don’t think there’s much to go with in terms of WF. The block reads don’t strike me as AI; he would do that as both affiliations. Regardless, at 4 hours left, he’s not a target

Mag1c - Null - There’s things pulling me in both directions with Mag1c. There’s stuff that’s townie, and then there’s stuff that’s scummy. The townie piece is going after Pie and that whole fiasco, as well as some other stuff like pointing out stuff about Vader. Scummy piece is going after JenKiggans immediately after me at a time where he still suspected Kohai. It just seemed odd to me, but right now, I don’t think he needs to be solved

Jen Kiggans - Null - Not much to go with here

Lunatic - Slight Town - As scum, early on, Luna is relatively lowkey. I don’t see him draw attention to himself with this much back and forth with Mag1c. As scum, he would’ve stopped the scuffle long ago to seem like he’s doing stuff but then looks the other way.

Banana - Lean Town - I like the block posts, but I’ll note that it’s NAI for her. I do like the questions she asked me. They were very insightful to me, and it demonstrated she was looking for more information that would help her form reads better. It’s just a unique perspective that I think is pretty challenging for scum to replicate. I also like the mediating between Luna and Mag1c. I felt the same way.

Ya I don’t like the claim from Vader at all. The justification lines up for sure, but 2x Roleblocker could just as easily be the scum role with the Solar Flare as the potential fake character claim.

Why are you hesitant to claim Tree Stump? It’s basically useless

I don’t like either of their claims, though Kohai needs to claim is character ASAP to see if justification makes sense

What's the point in holding this information back, exactly? If you're telling the truth, scum won't kill you during the NP, so your only goal at this point should be to prevent the ML. I'm not stuck on you for claiming Tree Stump, but if you expect me to ignore the choice to limit your claim like this when you've already given away your role, you're going to be disappointed.

That's crossed my mind as well. I believe you said it earlier, but we only know that scum received "at most 1 fake role/character claim." So the options they have are likely limited.

As I said earlier the justification and character makes zero sense. I’m never claiming my character as this only helps scum further. We’ve already had too many claims IMO

Keep in mind if Vader is scum, then it means 1) Mafia was specifically given a fake character claim only. 2) The team situation is such that Vader was the preferred option to use the fake claim.

He’s already admitted his justification doesn’t make sense even though he hasn’t claimed his character. He’s a tree stump, so his paranoia makes no sense

I think I'm coming around to Vader as the most reasonable vote today. I'm still not convinced he's an obvious slam dunk, but I don't love how reactive his progression has been, and I don't feel like we've gotten much independent solving from him. His claim also factors in for me. I don't think the claim itself clears him, especially in a setup where we know scum can have a fake role/character claim. So I'm not really comfortable giving him town equity just because of that.

At this point, Vader is probably where I'd want my vote. I think we have enough here that I'd rather try to get a lynch today than let the phase end with no lynch.

We should take a harder look at magic tomorrow. If Vader flips scum I’ll be much more willing to re evaluate my read on magic however. There’s bussing, and then there’s needless bussing. He kind of got this going against Vader. I don’t see him doing that this blatantly if Vader is his actual partner.

Maybe. I’m still leaning town. It’s that his PM contradicts something in the OP specifically. That’s a bold claim as a soft. And it draws attention. Gambit, maybe. But feels like he’s got some town ability up his sleeve

It was a CFD attempt on a player who hadn’t posted in the game at all, I had thought the DP was going to close at the time.
