Arguably, for a lot of athletes, their best "records" are from practice and not actual competitions. Same can be said about gamers: you don't just see everyone break world records in tournaments all the time unless it is an interactive game (where you fight for wins in LoL), you see them broken in practice.

Singing in the shower might be better audio-wise and worse for the recording equipment.

The way I interpreted it: Bad publishers with poor taste in cover arts ideally should not hinder a book from selling well. The opposite is also true.

Intel_06

This looks thought out and well designed. Better than those covers that are just reused stock photos of scenery of people. I don't judge books, I judge publishers who deliberately choose those covers: no book should deserve such a fate unless they really just suck.

Intel_06

Right. I miss the age where book covers are just plain one color(white, blue, red, etc) with nothing else except the book title, the author name and the publisher. The flashiness of the book cover nowadays is negatively correlated to how much I want to read it (assuming it is a book I have never read). I know I am quite literally not supposed to judge a book by its cover but it is another thing when apparently the publishers are actively trying too hard to push a regular book to be Teen Vogue.

Why would this appear uncomfortable? This beats mostly everything my college library has to offer. That thing would be perfect if criss-crossing your legs. I would actually pay real US dollars for this chair, unless it is more expensive than $100, then I would shut up and keep scrolling.

It is a weighted average: lobbyists and billionaires simply get what is basically hundreds of thousands of votes in the form of cash.

Maybe cash is too primitive, what do the top dawgs use nowadays? Bitcoin? Dogecoin?

I guess this is how it works. My proposals: Get the billionaires and their companies to back me for president because it is funny. Just get me enough to the primaries. Then let the rest of the work do itself: What do you think people would vote for, someone so old they can barely walk, or someone that can at least do 20 pushups in a row and have enough active brain capacity to solve the Schrodinger Equation?

For legal reasons this is a joke, if only this is funny. Oh well.

Ah, the wave of nostalgia, and then this crap. But this is also a part of the nostalgia, I guess.

Gosh, I sound old. Maybe I really am too chronically online and should go outside and try date someone or something.

Intel_06

Morning. I just realized I didn't introduce myself here, not that half of people here needs my introduction anyway. This place just seems like one of those memes where your online friend "last online: 7 years ago" just came back online and you salute them. It is amazing how much AI could do now since I entered "this" community back in 2019 and "left" in 2022. Before that, we probably were arguing about whether AIs can ever fool humanity in writing. Now, debaters on this site are using AI now, along with some other guy I see in the library who is probably also using AI to generate his essay. I know I am technically still a teenager, but I am already nostalgic of the era where there used to not be AI everywhere we go.

Oh man, I feel like the younger me who always had the energy to argue about pointless things again. For these moments, I feel like I know enough philosophy to duel god using the pen that is mightier than the word, just like before. A reassuring escape from the reality that I am sliding downhill in the Dunning-Kruger slope in the figure that they did not even create. I don't intend to start any debates any time soon here, as even though I don't have a job yet, what I do have is an above-average number of class units in the rigorous hard sciences and intermittent responsibilities in the laboratory. I actually have IRL friends, dozens of them, can you believe it. This is what college does to a guy, folks. Aside from the fact the average person there uses language so colloquial it starts to wear mine down and make me reminisce about what I used to be: some dude who actually had the dedication to write 2000-word long reports on pointless things and profound things alike. Of course, shortly after I finish this post I have to become exactly that except not due to boredom but responsibility, but it is fun to think about.

Oh yeah and don't look at my leaderboard rating. I do not know how to debate, which ironically is the reason I have loved it so much and may keep loving it in the forseeable future, you know, that is, if I don't get myself abducted by hypothetical aliens from immediately outside the solar system. And in case if I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening and good night.

If all (or even many of) the women you have talked to behave like so, then it is plausible that the group might not fit you. I think trying to search inside another group may yield more significant results. For example: electrical engineers.

How come there are <50 debates on the record of this site but there are people with hundreds of wins? How did they transfer their record, and if so, how should I do it?

P.S. The email I used over there is no longer used by me anymore. If it requires me to use the old email, then I would just stick to a plain blank account over here.

I used to be Intelligence_06 back on Debateart.com. Wasted too much time over there while the rest of the high school socialized with each other. I won't really do much here since I have started doing actual things in college.
