People who use the term agnostic and then go on to argue an anti-theist position are copping out. If you honestly don't know, then argue, like you don't know. But don't come at people confident in their faith and say, I'm agnostic, thinking it makes you look less bigoted. Ricky Gervais is a perfect example of this.

I have a metaphysical shop.Everything here is spiritual, including customers. A lot of people that come in here have trauma, depression and issues. They come here looking for guidance, comfort and healing. No idea why you would assume that one group of human beings doesn't experience human emotions.

The God of Abraham had to use certain methods to communicate with Moses because it was initial contact. Once that contact established, then you can engage with it by chants, speaking, meditation, ritual, et cetera. All religions start in a localized area with shaman and then work their way out as people become more familiar with them and can access them through the astral.

It's numerology. I don't doubt some of the numbers have some capabilities. Because everything vibrates at a frequency and that includes numbers. You would probably get the same result with crystals or herbs. Or even mantras

Eternal progression is a concept in Spiritualusm and that is monotheist. But they also don't view the creator as this sort of entity that would be punishing everyone. So we are basically experiencing life so that the creator has those experiences. Where you land in the afterlife, depends on your choices, and if you've made bad choices, you have to work through them to progress spiritually.

Because people think they can just appropriate words and concepts and religions and use them however they want to. And the people that do that do that, because at their core, they really don't believe any of it exists, they'd be worried about offending the gods that represent those concepts.

Rape is justifiable to a lot of people. Monotheists, in general, seem to not have a problem with it. And obviously there are plenty of polytheists that don't either. Just say, oh, that's not really what the myths are talking about. It's some sort of allegory. Well, I'm not sure what kind of point one is trying to make. When it say Zeus rapes women, but he doesn't actually rape women. Sounds like saying they asked for it. Imagine that.

I am a Christian. I believe in karma, which really is just the belief that we, individually, control our destiny, but I know it by another moniker: free will

I love how you just steal another religion's concept, completely change the definition and use it however, you feel like. That is definitely Christian. Considering, in Wicca, a Book of Shadows is a personal spell journal, unless you don't understand what ingredients are listed, there's not much to not get.

To say the gods never engaged in bad behavior because their gods and their behavior can never be bad, is evangelical. Rape, whether done by a god or not is a bad thing. And there is nothing poetic about it. I will not excuse behavior like that from any being just because they might be a deity or they might be more powerful astraly than me.

Polytheistwitch

If you think Zeus is good because he rapes women, you have a serious problem. And which creation god are you giving credit of the Earth to? What makes something immoral, is that it violates another. You can't do that without a body.

Polytheistwitch

Because the gods are rarely moral themselves. And let's be honest, prison doesn't deter criminals and gods don't deter immorality. If the god's truly controlled morality, then there would be examples of people's suffering at the hands of the gods for not following that morality. The other thing is, is that once you lose your body, morality is no longer a thing. So once you're on the same plane of existence is the gods, morality isn't even a factor.

Nope. You can't even tell what someone's religion is unless they're wearing an icon or dressed a certain way. And we could get into a whole discussion about how pagans/polytheists, don't even have groups to practice with.

Polytheistwitch

Why would human beings who lived closer to nature think their children dying was any more special than any other animals young dying? It would have simply been viewed as a part of life. I can't think of any pagan religion that has a special afterlife for children. They die the same as adults. It's not any different.

I've often read of how a number of intellectuals and nobles in ancient societies, would not actually 'believe in the Gods that their people worshiped. Even though the nobles often acted as priests, or the intellectuals used the Gods as useful 'concepts or ideals.

Says a lot about atheists. Religion in society today continues for more reasons than power tripping. It's sad people can't see that and continue to feel superior to people with spirituality in their life.

People argue the weirdest things to try to justify their religious belief or lack thereof. What it comes down to or should come down to is you've had some type of experience that leads you to believe that there is something more than yourself out in the universe. That's it. Nothing else matters. Nothing about your life matters. How how you die doesn't matters. It's all irrelevant.
