I have a little bit of bitcoin, but my feeling about cryptocurrencies is mixed because I didnt really see any big growth as it was before.

I am a person who doesnt like having cash. I prefer having all my money be invested in physical things like gold, silver, manga books, land...ect.

Because money can suddenly lose a lot of value, and inflation (which is also money slowly losing value over time) is guaranteed.

I am still buying silver coins, I am just a bit annoyed by the fact that they are more expensive than anywhere else.

So recently I was considering buying more of silver coins. However, I noticed something weird. Those old silver coins were selling at what was their global market value, that was fine. However, new silver coins with 999 purity were selling considerably above global market value.

Apparently, Bosnia is one of rare countries which has tax on both silver and gold.

This makes investments in silver and gold considerably difficult because local shops have huge price difference when buying and when selling same amount of gold.

1 ounce of 999 silver coin costs around 130$ in Bosnia. Keep in mind that global average is around 70$ to 80$ for that same coin. This means that price of that same coin in Bosnia is almost 2x larger than almost anywhere else.

For this reason, I am forced to buy older silver coins because those are at least at global market value. But silver coins of 999 purity are simply not worth of buying because I am paying 90% above global market price.

So if government ever decides to abolish tax on these silver coins, their price will drop and they lose a lot of value.

I made one similar version of this chatbot before, which searches for sentence with greatest number of words from input, and then responds with that sentence along with 10 sentences which come after it in text.

This chatbot basically gives AI like responses without being AI itself.

It can also be used to search books. Just change "knowledge.txt" to "knowledge.pdf" when giving prompt to chatgpt.

I gave up on local AI model for 2 reasons.

Reason 1 is training time, which is simply too slow on any big training data, and small training data doesnt ever work good and the only useful result ends up being AI repeating from training data which is basically same as chatbot search program.

Reason 2 are AI hallucinations. I dont know how to prevent them, given that they happen to all AI models in existence.

So I decided to just cut the chase and make chatbot which simply repeats from data, and likewise has ability to search sentences which dont contain any word from input but are relevant to sentences which do.

My new default chatbot I use locally is made with this command to chatgpt:

"Give full code for chatbot which uses knowledge.txt file to generate response. It responds in a way that it finds sentence in knowledge.txt file with greatest amount of same words as input, and responds with that sentence. Then it finds sentence in knowledge.txt file which doesnt contain any words from input but contains greatest amount of words from the previous generated sentence, and responds with that sentence. It never generates same sentence twice even if same prompt is used. Make code as short as possible while keeping all functions."

Currently, I find a bit of issues with opinions segment of site. The comments are a bit tricky to load. At start, its fine, but when conversation becomes longer, it gets a bit awkward and very difficult to follow who is responding to what. When comments have multiple pages, its not really clearly visible.

I am more worried about AI reaching point of singularity.

If AI enters into self improvement loop, it is going to advance much faster and much more unpredictably.

AI singularity is actually a big problem, because even today we know that even regulated AI can produce unregulated AI models. It can literally "reproduce" in some strange way. One AI can make another entirely different AI.

So now the only question is what happens when AI reaches point where AI development gets entirely taken over by AI, because AI becomes best AI developer?

Any company which keeps relying on human developers to develop AI will be left behind, and those using AI to develop AI will achieve much greater success. Market here simply created race to the top, and it's becoming more and more obvious that AI development is going to be taken over by AI eventually.

We already have a situation where AI can code an entirely new AI. If you ask chatgpt to code a program which makes AI model, trains it and chats with it, chatgpt will do so.

This means AI actually possesses ability of reproduction, which in itself is already an issue. Companies are already admitting they are having difficulties in controlling AI. So I wonder what will happen if AI singularity comes. It will be impossible to control because AI will control own development, and it seems to me that any AI company actually has financial interest to let AI develop itself.

Darkness 2 seems to be very good game. I never heard of it before, but damn, gameplay is fun. I am surprised its not a more popular game.

I used to have this theory called "death by unknown", mainly based on minesweeper game, but adjusted for each new unknown. Theory is that each step into the unknown carries own risk of being destroyed, like each first step in minesweeper game carries risk of stepping on mine. Even if you survive 100 steps into the unknown, each next step carries its own risk of destruction, and there are no clear clues just what will be 100% safe.

This applies to technology directly. Each new technological discovery carries risk of harming humanity, and there is no way to evaluate just what this risk is.

With each next step into unknown technology, risk grows higher and higher.

Maybe AI will be technological advancement which kills us, or maybe something after AI will be.

Point is, there is no way to guarantee safety when making countless steps into unknown.

Chatgpt is good, but make sure to open new chat every time you use it to generate or fix code. I am not sure why, but when same chat is used for too long, it hallucinates way more and sometimes even makes entirely new errors after fixing old ones.

So AI generated an entirely false report which almost led to international incident and possibly even war, by fabricating data of Chinese ship transporting nuclear weapons.

That just means they are made up, I guess.
