Abortion is NORMAL (only competent debaters respond)
1. Abortion is not MURDER MURDER defined as, the crime of killing a person illegally on purpose The burden of proof to establish that Abortion is murder is on Con, by default. Because Abortions are legally happening worldwide, without killing involved. If the Con establishes that Abortion is murder then I will counter it with my arguments. 2. Fetus :- Strictly speaking of Fetus before 24th week. Moving beyond murders, which are indeed legal until and unless established otherwise, let's widen the scope of the Debate beyond laws and institutional procedures. ABORTING A FETUS IS COMPLETELY FINE. For this debate, 1. 'pain' is fundamentally bad. 2. 'Suffering' is fundamentally bad 3. 'Taking the life of a conscious being which can't consent is bad' If the con successfully establishes any of these 3, or any equivalent to the definition of a fetus, then only I will counter with my arguments. By convention, medical science has established that fetus before 24 weeks shows 0 signs of pain or being conscious, I will take credible data to believe otherwise. 3. 'Fathers have a say in this matter' argument, Fathers may have a say in this argument, and that is, a. I can't support a baby, please consider an abortion b. Our financial condition is not fine, let's put on hold a bit c. We aren't even married yet, we can't have a baby now d. I do don't feel like it The say mother's have a. I have a Job, I can't afford a baby now c. Same points as father C. I don't feel like it The say Fathers don't have, a. You MUST not abort And it's a vague line for mothers, If a father is unwilling to have a child and wants an abortion but the mother wants a baby, it's convenient to talk it out to a common understanding or A. Abort the baby, a baby which was not consented by either of the parents shouldn't be born. It's the best option B. But we can't enforce the abortion on a mother, if she doesn't agree to it then the burden of the child lies with the mother, she can't blame the father for anything related to the child, and the father may opt out completely or partially.
