yesterday I felt he was being opportunistic and taking more of a back seat than usual, here isnt much different. Starts off DP hard towning Kohai, now is throwing a major sus on him.

Going to log off for now but I have some thoughts about some of the info. I think there is a clear distinction between the two questions asked. One direction recruitment and one that was a hidden ability that we have 0 idea what it was for. 50% said yes and 50% said no but each to different questions that they were asked.

Idk where you’re getting the 2 questions notion from. I got told that Kyubey wants to make a contract with me, and if I accept I will unlock a previously hidden ability

I am actually a bit more sus of Pie this DP because of this bold “denial” claim. Realistically, there is no reason to deny a recruitment unless you know there isn’t going to be a NK in the night, and we had no way of guaranteeing that.

Like I said, most everyone either asked if it involved recruitment or they didn’t mind being recruited, which both implies recruitment. Especially if the game started 7-1 with a recruitment, balance wise it’s obvious there probably won’t be an NK

Shit if I got offered to be recruited, and it would’ve AT THE MINIMUM by a 5v2 game, that’s just 2 DP’s to live on. Saying it’s scummy to deny that is IMO scummy to suggest because if you are solely thinking about winning a game, I think the optimal play is to accept. Not even to mention that THE ACTION failed.

This assumes that at least 1 person will accept. That’s a tough assumption to make.

While we’re shooting theories, my personal one is that it was some sort of ranked choice and if everyone declined, then the top person would be chosen

It was not given to me as a recruitment, it was given to me as a hidden power. Even then, I didn’t even think it was scummy from my perspective until seeing Kohai recruitment. I accepted it because if I denied it and somehow I was the only person who got it, thats immediate FOS. You literally did the same thing to Luna in one game… the mechanic operated in a similar way

I don’t remember this at all, but regardless. The Bottomline is that 3 people admitted to accepting the offer: REF, Vader, Mikal.

It’s definitely odd for sure. But Wryly is basically confirmed town as she is claiming she is immune + behavior. I think you’re behaviorally town as well. Mharman should be town as well.

I have a problem with Vader, REF, and Mikal accepting the offer. It screamed recruitment imo. The offer was too good to be true. I find it hard to believe they didn’t think their affiliation could change.

Alright I have a ton of information that I think is vital to share. 

1. I was targeted with a night action

Kyubey targeted me asking me to enter in a contract. I had a feeling this was an alignment changing role. It was mod confirmed to me that this was an alignment changing role. We are dealing with a cult or a recruiter. 

Conclusion: We are dealing with a recruiter or a cult.

I’ll take this a step further. I also got targeted by Kyubey. I specifically asked Thoth whether accepting would change my affiliation, and he said that yes it would make me scum. I rejected that shit so fast lol

2. Full role and abilities

I'm hitomi, an emessary. I start the game with a few mod-confirmed information: (1) The only anti claim mechanic is if multiple people claimed their character on day 1. This is why I was so adamant about no one claiming or hinting to their role. Magic was outed and I got confirmation that this counts towards anti-claim. Mag1c thought the outing had to do with a secret ability which turned out to be correct. I had a secret ability that was told to me on n1: Anyone who voted for me on day 1 had a change to have their character revealed. This is why magic's character got revealed. I still believe he is town as he has been the most towny player all game. We are now safe to claim character

I buy this from Kohai. Solidifies my town read.

3. Final analysis

The person who targeted me with changing alignments most likely was a person strong town reading me or someone PR hunting. The person that matches this most is whiteflame. Here's why: Post # 212 whiteflame stated this: "I don't know what to make of what Kohai's getting at, but worth seeing what he's cooking next DP. Gave away that he has a PR, so that might make for some shenanigans." 

I never really hinted to or gave away that I was a PR, but this line is telling that whiteflame has been PR hunting. Casey has been MIA and so I want to look elsewhere as this contract was before casey returned.

Issue is that I received the same offer. I think we need more information before making a decision. I’m comfortable getting claims from WF and Mikal now but let’s see if there are any results, especially considering that there was no night kill

WF has theme knowledge regardless of if he’s scum or town. But if he’s town, it’s useful to us.

Casey’s behavior is far easier to read than yours. Even when you were scum last time, I couldn’t read that properly. Casey I can read better for sure

I don't know if I came up with an actual means for us to softclaim in that post, at least not one that I'm comfortable with yet. We might just want to wait until next DP to get any kind of broader idea of what's going on with the setup, if only to give everyone the maximum chance to make best use of their roles. I might come up with something better by next DP, but I figure we either end this DP with a NL straight up or we push a single target and make our decision after they claim. 

It’s honestly probably for the best that we VTNL. If the game is 6-2, which makes sense, then we may have to VTNL anyways down the line. Giving scum zero info is very painful to them. They’re basically shooting blind

I really hate VTLing based on vibes. Everyone is null to me right now except a slight town lean on Mag1c and Kohai. whiteflame is just being cerebral and analytical like he always is regardless of alignment. Not sure how to read Casey.

I agree with Vader’s analysis that Mharman is likely town. If scum were given fake claims, it doesn’t make sense for their claim to be revealed like that.

On a side note, I hate the whole hidden mechanics stuff. It’s impossible for either side to skillfully play around it. Basically makes the game luck base
