To be very clear. I have probably played more games of mafia than a huge portion of this games players combined.

The behavior of this community is outrageously out of line. Rule breaks happen. Cool, let’s learn and move on. People sitting around and excusing them is not great.

We need to come together here, acknowledge the bad and move forward if we want this community to grow.

No real high quality mafia player would ever play on this site again if they had this dumpster fire for a first experience and saw leadership excusing hardcore rule breaks

I think it’s being over exaggerated by the complainers. There was a lot of behavioral analysis in this game, I was putting mad hours into dp1, just for people to dismiss towns victory as bull shit because of rule breaks. I think people need to chill out with rule break accusations.

I see them as separate issues.

You played super well. Town in general was outgunned with little to work with and came out on top. I do not feel the bad stuff made that happen.

I so think the bad stuff existed and should be talked about though so future games can be more healthy. When you have an end of game with both town and mafia players saying the game should be shut down because of a players behavior there is obviously a big problem

You also have town and scum players saying it’s not a big deal. Mag1cman clearly didn’t care.

People can mod psyche at their own peril. It has burned people a lot in the past.

Why do townies ask questions? Sometimes it’s clarification, but sometimes it’s to catch people in inconsistencies. It’s your job as a mod to consider ramifications of questions and to not give an unfair advantage to either scum or town. You can always just refuse to answer any and all questions

Idk what your problem is. Again I’ve told you this. You can’t blame players for reading people’s post and thinking internally: that’s Pie. There’s no way Town Pie does that. Especially in a community this small that has endured the test of time.

You can’t blame players for the actions of the mod. If the mod explicitly said something that contradicted their own rules, then how can you blame the player? At best literally everyone would be modkilled. Scum were also aware of who was who. Like they took massive advantage of the wagon against me because wait for it…it was a wagon against Pie. Kohai explicitly said he yearns for that opportunity. So don’t act like town won this unfairly, when scum were doing the exact same thing and now are crying wolf

Kohai always plays the victim card just like every liberal. He is a garbage player at this game. Literally a 5 year old could understand logic better than this guy, and his posts in DP3 should tell you that. It was so blatantly obvious he was scum that it was depressing to see people give him a pass for it until the very end. He can bitch and moan about angle shooting all he wants, but the reality here is that he’s a horrible player both as town and scum.

And on top of that, the entire game was scumsided to begin with. You let Thoth get replaced while he was on the chopping block, and don’t give me the “He was sick bs.” That literally gave scum a major advantage on top of an already major structural advantage with the setup.

The whole getting mod killed to solve the game doesn’t even mean anything. The solution to that is simple. Mod kills are treated as the lynch for the day.

As for the whole figuring out who people were, it’s hard not to factor that in your read. And Mago was leanient towards the beginning. It’s pretty obvious Kohai was Caine since the first page.

And it’s up to the mod to determine the ramifications of the questions they choose to answer. The player can asks questions as they please to try to catch people in inconsistencies

There wasn’t appetite to lynch Brands blind + they hadn’t posted in a while. The replacement basically ended that wagon, which is why scum got a major advantage from that.

I think its rather unfair to blame the host for the chronic disregard of basic rules. This community and its leadership probably needs to figure that part out if its ever going to grow a healthy mafia community. Second game out of 2 I have played here and I am constantly bothered by the conduct in games.

The problem is that you can’t ignore consideration of who people are. Because the pool of players is so small, it becomes very obvious based on posting who everyone is.

As for Mikal asking those questions to Mago. I see them as legitimate questions, and it’s up to the mod to consider the ramifications of answering questions. Mikal himself as mod doesn’t answer any questions, but when in doubt, No Comment is the best answer.

I do think the setup was very scum sided.

I am rather disappointed in my personal performance this game. Really struggled to engage and it was actually a huge problem for me to push my thoughts with my self imposed restriction.

Just play normally. It’s a team game. Half your job as town is to build the rapport with other townies.

Props to Kohai for their deep wolf play. I woulda turned on you after Brand flipped but that shit threw me for a loop. EoD I was struggling to reconcile my reads and just kept cutting back to "I do not fucking know but in every world I look at Brand is scum" kinda thing. I am sorry to hear your stepping back from mafia and I appreciate the tools you are creating for the community.

It was blatantly obvious if he read the previous game that he was scum. Especially in DP3. Those posts were very very bad

Also to all my detractors, I didn’t factor in that where we’re 7 vanillas instead of 6, but we did have a 33% chance with Kohai, Banana, Pie. Would’ve been 66% if Thoth hadn’t been replaced out

Also, Mikal was 100% right that I was screaming from my grave that Caine was scum. It was so obvious that idk how anyone was considering anything else. Every piece of DP3 was a direct variance from his previous town game

So much talk about guild sabotage; my reaction is really? I didn’t see it. I felt like we worked together well and took out scum. I don’t think guild friction was nearly as much of a factor as mstari thinks it was lol but then again he was saying that alot throughout the game for some odd reason.

I genuinely wasn’t lying when I said Idrc about my guild winning. I was planning to out myself until Wylted yoloed, so we just played along with it
