I did think it kind of sucked to go against the setup of a game you signed up for and try to deanonymize people. At the same time, its up to the mod to use robust game designs methods to punish bad behavior. Something like anticlaim. For example, let the scum team get power ups if a town player refers to them as the incorrect player. This would give scum incentive to roleplay and give town a strong disincentive to ever speculate about who is actually playing a slot. There are ways to build countermeasures into the game itself.

Tbh, I never understood your insistence on intentionally being scumread to make the game more of a challenge. You're playing with unfamiliar players with an unfamiliar meta - couldn't that be the challenge? A site where OoG/angleshooting is widely tolerated, flavor is not NAI, and a playerbase which is completely new to you is plenty disorienting. Trying to intentionally be scumread while swimming upstream against the meta just seems like a good way to get mislynched - and that's what ended up happening in hindsight.

That kind if reignited it lol. What really killed it was both sides wifoming about who recruited you imo, and the other options being scummy.

Feel so bad for lynching Helz and Shining, especially cause I knew the latter was town. But in the end we pulled it off. Banana played well even though she was backed into a corner. Magic's poisoning gambit was smart- took me a while to see through that one. White tigers forever.

I think it would be difficult to manipulate Wryly's results if the redirector wasn't used because nobody knew the target. The targets that were floated (mostly Banana) were not me. There was no inkling that she would target me in the DP or the guild chat. The last thing we said is that she would shoot within POE that wasn't in the other guild. So how would they, or me if I were scum, be able to predict and manipulate that without a role that specifically targets the cop like a redirector?

Kohai was in Pie's secondary POE last DP.

Definitely seems like they redirected Pie to get an NK off OR to use Banana's role. If Banana is town you aren't going to kill her, she's a golden mislynch target. Why not let Pie jail her in a town banana world? Also might indicate that the other scum is in Pie's POE if they were that worried about the jailer. If you have a redirector and Banana is town it makes much more sense to use it on the cop, especially because they did not know we had a strengthener. It only makes sense to use it on Pie if Banana is scum and especially if her scummate is in his POE. The good play is to lawyer Banana (or have her self-lawyer) and have the other scum lawyer/redirect pie off her and onto the town player who is a wild card. That's basically what happened. Making me think it is Kohai/Banana.

i already told u i wont be discussing mechanics. i know im town, so i know something is happening with results and actions we dont understand but are pretending to understand them for some reason. i know im being lynched. there is litrly no point in trying to come up with 10 thousand reasons why something did or didn't happen. u can ask urself the question above when i flip town and u have to re-evalute ur reads.

If I were town in your position, I would start reassessing my towncore and poking around for scum within that group, instead of simply standing athwart POE-restricting mechanical elements and screaming 'stop'. I would not continue to doggedly scumread two players that are easier to mislynch than my towncore even after mechanics cleared them pretty thoroughly.

Magic and you are my POE after Banana. Maybe WF and Mestari. Magic first, probably. If the jailkeep didn't block Banana carrying out the NK and instead Pie was the NK target, then Magic faking the poison as a gambit to pull the doc off Luna makes sense with a scum team that would be gunning for confirmed town like Pie.

I think you meant scum. In that case, Magic. Earlier in the DP I would say Awesome but Pie being redirected points to Awesome not redirecting Wryly.

The attempt by Kohai and Banana to force poe wider on shoddy reasoning is pretty damning to me. Its like they know they cannot get enough mislynchs poking around in Mestari/Magic/WF and realized that if Awesome and I are foreclosed on as mislynch targets they will lose the game.

I can't think of a game that had poison and no way to cure it on this site. Asking how it was cured would be the norm, and upon realizing it could be cured it's not fancy play to realize the doc was still alive and that poisoning a player would basically narrow POE and town confirm someone, something that scum want even less if they are going to be half wiped out by DP3. That's not pursuing your wincon, it's hampering it. When you could instead use it to manipulate to cop into protecting scum and have a free NK while farming lots of towncred, why not do that?

That's my bad, I misinterpreted my role. It specifically says that my results would be false AND randomized. I took this to be a restatement - that they would be randomized and therefore false. Only after wryly revealed her gambit and her assumption that I would give false results did I think 'oh shit, is it false or randomized in the case of a cop?'

I asked Mikal, and he said for binary results like a cop's inno/guilty it would always return false results and for open-ended results like tracking, watcher, etc. it would just spit out something random. He also confirmed that a strengthener would pierce and override all of these.

It could have been a gambit to pull the doc onto magic so they could safely kill Luna. I asked Mikal about this last night, he said if the scum team asked them if a doctor cured poison he would tell them yes. At the same time, Magic could get huge town cred.

Yes, he accepted and we had him lie and say he rejected so we could get a strengthened cop off without scum catching on. I think Wryly had this planned out ahead of time and didn't tell us but she can take credit for the big-brained play if she wants when she shows up.

OKAY I have answers.

We recruited Awesome.

Wryly basically said she was going to investigate but not who and had Awesome strengthen her. He says he did. I confirmed to Mikal that if a non-strengthened cop targeted me, they would get a guilty, and if a strengthened cop targeted me, they would get an innocent. Wryly got an innocent on me. This was all her plan, literally nobody knew who she was targeting. So, If Wryly is the town cop (which everyone accepts as far as I know) it proves that I am town and that Awesome is a strengthener and strengthened Wryly instead of doing something else. There was no way to bus drive the targets as they had no way to know it was me. We did mention Banana as a possible investigative target, so there is the small possibility that it's an Awesome/Banana scum team and they have a redirector and manipulated the result to get a false inno because they thought Banana would be investigated, but unless Banana flips scum Awesome is basically town.
