Thoth being AWOL
Asleep While Others Lynch

I would have lynched you anyway because you were vanilla and useless and your inno flip would have outed wylted as a liar. If I were awake for EoD I would have waited because it would have been nice to have you say whether you lied or not but oh well. You went like all day without posting.

RexFavilla

Yeah that gambit from Wylted was pretty wild - basically a suicide play setting up a 1x1. Thoth being AWOL meant he might have eked by a few more days but I understand why he threw in the towel.

Also, Whiteflame, my role is the doc is wrong, my role PM said it was 2x not compulsive every night. It's a really shame this ended so quickly, it looks like it could have been a really cool setup. I like the idiosyncratic roles.

I was thinking of using the magistrate on one of the players advocating a mass claim just to defang that idea and stop them from vote pressuring people to claim. Turns out I was right to oppose it - it could have significantly powered Wylted up.

I guess I’ll keep in mind that you could just be lazy town in the future but please write at least a blurb of something when you check in the thread
ill admit I definitely should’ve considered you being lazy town more but help me help you bruh

I tend to do that more DP2 lol. DP1 I like to poke and observe more.

It couldn't go based on the affiliation of the redirector target because town can also lie and scum can tell the truth. I think the only way Thoth is town is if he claimed and lied about it DP1, which if he did he deserves to die anyway.
if scum got lucky and redirected wylted away from Thoth

But Wylted was not visiting Thoth to directly investigate him, he was checking the veracity of his statement. A redirector does not chose a new statement to send a lie detector to test instead - so would have zero effect on a lie detector's results.

RexFavilla

Whiteflame confirmed to me that a redirector or busdriver could not alter the choice of post for a lie detector.

RexFavilla

It couldn't go based on the affiliation of the redirector target because town can also lie and scum can tell the truth. I think the only way Thoth is town is if he claimed and lied about it DP1, which if he did he deserves to die anyway.

Redirector and bus driver is possible but honestly with this lead who gives a fuck. What would a mislynch of Thoth based on a 1% and then maybe me as a response to that mislynch bring us?

We would still be a favorite to win

I don't think they really are but I will confirm. How would that even work? A lie detector has to pick a specific statement. How could someone be busdriven or redirected to that?

Thoth is a high incentive framer target but so am I
Not really for Rex. I was the only one pushing him.

So if there’s a framer the question is, do you target me or Thoth here?

WF just confirmed to me that a framer would not affect a lie detector.

I am absolutely, categorically opposed to a mass claim and thing it's retarded.
Brother you have to take mass claiming in context. We aren't just doing it to do it. We have nailed one scum. There is one left. We can deduce based on power roles and eliminate options early and end this already. If we didn't have a dp1 scum lynch I wouldn't be suggesting it.

That makes it even more dumb. We have a longer game with one scum left. Keeping the power roles hidden and using them to narrow POE is the sure path to victory. Outing them and allowing scum to pick them off ASAP and then wifom their way to the end with minimal results is literally the only way for town to shoot ourselves in the face and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

RexFavilla

It's almost certain that scum chose to get one full fake claim for the remaining player who needs to long haul it. This makes a mass claim pointless, and suggesting it is scummy.

RexFavilla

Wylted's justification makes sense and it's not something he could make up easily without seeing the anime. Ubel is my favorite character in the anime, she can copy spells by empathizing with people and understand them on a deep emotional level, and has her own spell which is an incredibly violent cutting spell. The flipped scum is Serie, and while Ubel is considered a slightly 'evil' character her on a scum team with Serie makes zero sense.

I'll look at Thoth more later but for now everyone should take a look at Rex's ISO

-First five posts are RVS and shitposts (note that he's checking in the thread semi-frequently in the first two days and has little to say about the game)
-Next three posts, he finally jumps in and jumps on Thoth while Pie, Mikal and I are on him (yes he makes a concession in the third of those posts, but the point of those three posts is still to establish an anti-Thoth stance)

Summarizing those three posts as me 'jumping on Thoth' is straight up retarded. Having some theme knowledge, I made three rapid-fire, stream-of-consciousness posts about his impromptu claim. At first, I also think it is strange, then I analyze whether he could conceivably do that as scum, concluding that he could. Then I look at whether it could be his actual claim, concluding that it very well could, and this is at a time when other players have pretty much all said the opposite - that Himmel was an important and powerful character and didn't make sense as a vanilla. I never at this point voted Thoth or even said that I wanted to lynch him, as I wanted to see how the wagon would develop and how people would react, whether they would hop off or argue and double down. Internally, I was pretty skeptical of the Thoth wagon at this point and wanted to take a wait-and-see approach to see which counterwagon would emerge if that one faltered. The fact that one emerged on a player who was in hindsight scum is absolutely golden.

You seem awfully peeved that this case on me is unconvincing, almost like you're scum who feels like you deserve to mislynch me because I put in so little effort last DP.

RexFavilla

I came in to the DP at a time when the votes were tied and the lynch was going to rand and had to do a quick read and decide between Thoth and Mago after really not paying much attention DP1, eventually decided on Mago because the arguments on Thoth were flimsy (a vanilla claim which I had already pointed out long ago could fit and the idea that he was 'defensive').

You on the other hand were dead-set, adamant about never ever lynching Magoroth iirc, claiming that you would only lynch between Thoth and I, and fought the Magoroth wagon tooth and nail. This is mystifying behavior if you are town, as Mago was hardly active, and the fact that you were gunning for me who was also widely innactive is even more damning because it doesn't give you some out where you wanted to kill an active player to get more info out of it. But if you are scum just coming off of two scum games where you lost teammates in the early DPs and had to try and long-haul it? Much more understandable for you to put it all out there trying to avoid a repeat scenario, hoping that your scum mate could turn things around the next DP.

RexFavilla

Glad I was right about mago. I think claiming is useless - dont see why on earth scum wouldn't opt for the 'one full claim' option if there are only two of them. Sideying the people who had such a hardon for Thoth last DP, especially Magic.

Also though if its based on the characters and their abilities at the timeline of the actual show Himmel is an old, dying man when the show begins.

RexFavilla

I could see Thoth claiming vanilla on a fake claim Himmel character as scum because fancy claiming hot hik lynched as scum several times
