The mistake happened during the day. It's tax season. Daddy Pie is busy. But I'm sure as soon as he got home from work, he took his belt off and went to town on Thoth and Alyssa in the scum chat. But by then the damage was already done and there was nothing to do but bus at that point. Judging from the flip, Alyssa's death wasn't even much of a tragedy for scum and had a silver lining.

Aside from my gut read on Shining, I really, really don't think a scum Thoth/Alyssa team would make him the counterwagon at the end of last DP if he was also scum. That changes if Alyssa somehow doesn't flip scum, but if you have two scum caught redhanded, one is likely to be lynched, and you're desperately trying to prevent that, then you don't start a wagon on a third member of your scum team. The speed at which the Shining wagon took off also seemed sus, and it's one of those things I will look at more closely next DP in light of the flip.

With claims, I'm con. The calculus is altered a bit, because a bunch of people have roles they can't use until they're recruited. If you have the cop claim DP3 in a normal game, they've already gotten two investigations out. In this game, where guilds will be sacrificing night actions to recruit, and a good chunk of players cannot even use their roles until they are recruited, I would definitely do much fewer claims, especially early on. It will just let scum snipe power roles before they can get a single night action off. This is going to be a long game. We can look for claims in a few DPs, now is way, way too soon.
I think it's much more powerful for town to have because you can fake out a hammer and expose scum. As scum if you still want to lynch them you can just ramp up the votes once the lynchproof is activated again unless the clock is running out. Actually, I'm going to ask Mikal if such a role would deactivate at MYLO/LYLO.

If scum dont know what your role is, why on earth would they redirect an unknown town role onto themselves? Worst case its a vig, best case in most setups its a cop who targeted a townie and would receive a false guilty. And why target a widely scumread player who won't be believed if the intention is to cause a false result? In a case of multiple unknown players, wouldnt they fuck with a more widely townread player? That's an extreme edge case to worry about.
