@RexFavilla Who do you feel should be focused?

Thoth.

What do you think about the idea of guilds taking no action vs recruiting?

Well, I'm biased but I think the Hunter Guild should just not recruit, it will be fine, we can unite to focus on hunting scum together and use our power roles, pinky promise! ;3

Who tf is FT and where tf do you fuckers get the gall to have backstory that predates my introduction to this social community

Fourtouble. Had a profile picture of an old man with a gun. Very good at mafia. He was like Pie's hipster twin in several different ways.

RexFavilla
Rex for some reason hasn't joined the mason chat despite posting in the day phase, so I am assuming he was also recruited by wylted and is just trying to decide which guild to join. Could be wrong there though.

I only just checked my role PM and saw Mikal's message.

RexFavilla

Mestari would be right I think if Kohai was a guild leader, or even me. But Luna and Wylted tend to not have wagons build on them DP1 so that lessens the impact a bit. Still I personally would have kept that card up my sleeve to hit them with in later DPs but its not the end of the world.

RexFavilla

Okay now it makes more sense. I get what Mestari is saying about revealing the recruit. Now scum knows the other leader is someone who would recruit Luna

Historically I have not given much of a fuck about DP1 when there isn't a NP0. On DDO I did an analysis of every mafia game played up until that point. There was an intense and undeniable positive correlation between DP1 post count per player and scum win rate. It gets to a point where if there's >X posts per player DP1, the scum nearly universally wins.

The premise of this is that mafia players are far worse at tabula rasa behavioral analysis than they like to believe, and scum have no real pressure to make mistakes DP1. This creates an environment where the only form of pressure that consistently yields positive results for the town is noob pressure (because new scum can make unnecessary mistakes when poked).

Running up the DP1 post count amounts to little more than mucking the water.

Feel vindicated for hating DP1 scumhunting and calling it a glorified wifom-flinging shitfest, the only purpose of which is to produce a flip.

I only really get a strong vibe scumread DP1 in like 20% of games that I play.

RexFavilla

Part of your job as town is to not be lynched. I disagree that town players should have no thoughts of self-preservation. As town, the payoff of a gambit should outstrip the risk of said gambit.

Also, if we accept this argument, then scum has carte blanche to literally do whatever they want and wifom it away as 'why would I do that as scum, tehe!?'

RexFavilla

When did I say I knew 100% you were scum? Chill out. I said that both scum were in my top three scum reads DP1. Literally all I said and you've been malding about it for like ten posts now lol.

RexFavilla

There's no reason to as town either, and that's what you did. The exact same reasoning applies. You could have been CCd as town as well. I know I don't have much ground to stand on here giving I was false CCd by the town doc based on my own dumb mistake, but I admit that I made a mistake and made a horrible play. Your TP fakeout accomplished nothing aside from make you look bizarre and scummy and allowed Luna to pocket you by townreading you for it. And they won very easily in DP3 because they had two good mislynch targets - you and Shining (who apparently only I can read for some reason). They could turn DP3 into a 'hmmmm, is it Magic or Shining?' game and let Thoth pick between them.

RexFavilla

I mean I literally did it's there in black and white. You can try and argue with the record all you want. Trying to lynch a player like Pie, Whiteflame, Mikal, you, or Magic DP1 based on vibes is retarded, it will just turn into an absolute shitshow and nobody will go along with it.

RexFavilla

Why would I pursue your lynch DP1? You're hard to lynch. It was either Wylted or Mago, and Mago is a liability as town due to being an easy mislynch target while Wylted is a very strong player as town. DP1 lynches are the most inaccurate, so I always go for the person town can most stand to lose if we're wrong.

RexFavilla

The accuracy of a callout is determined by whether its accurate, nothing else. There were nine players. I had a POE of four, and within that POE I had two lynch targets, and one specific FOS. The specific FOS and one of the lynch targets were both scum.

RexFavilla

Also this shows the folly of not lynching a player for bonkers play early on. One reason I voted myself is because I knew after that fuckup I would be an easy mislynch target and a liability to town for the rest of the game. Leaving them alive because 'they can play like this as town' just gives scum a golden opportunity to drag them into late game and set them up as an ideal mislynch target at MYLO

RexFavilla

Sorry for being retarded and only reading half my PM lol. At least both scum were in my top 3 DP1 scum reads.
