When it comes to theme, each player has been given a series of clips that gives some insight into your character. The TV Tropes and Wikipedia page for this series usually have decent basic information (it’s often anglicized as ‘Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace). Theme split is not simple. Most of these women have at least one screw loose and have done some evil shit – don’t take villainy as equivalent to being scum. Roles have justification. Scum have been given two fake claims to use if they see fit, so overall theme analysis will be of limited use.

- No thumbs-up shenanigans once you're dead
- You can talk about role PM formatting and whatnot as much as you want but I love to deliberately sabotage that so do it at your own risk
- No cryptography/cipher crap
- Just don't piss me off - I'm a pretty chill guy but don't try and break the game in some cute new way that goes against the spirit of the game.

The DP will open on 2PM Sunday.
Other roles can also increase, deduct, or transfer favor. Multiples of these roles exist in the game. All players have favor except for the Emperor and the Empress Dowager. The scum team is distributed among the harem (Empress Dowager and other concubines). They lose and gain favor like any other player. Each NP, I will calculate all players’ favor, sort them from top to bottom, and decide which rank they receive. There are five ranks:
Concubine: Vanilla
Consort: One odd/even ability
Noble Consort: Both odd/even abilities
Imperial Noble Consort: Both odd/even abilities and a passive ability
Empress: All abilities and a double vote
One player will start as Empress. That player will remain as Empress, regardless of her favor, unless the Emperor deposes her or she dies. In either instance, at the end of the following DP the Emperor may appoint a new Empress from among the surviving concubines. Other players will rise or drop in rank, and therefore unlock new abilities or lose access to them, based on how much favor they have compared to other players - the Empress is not included in this ranking. The player which has the most favor and at least eight favor will occupy the rank of Imperial Noble Consort. The two players with the second and third highest favor and at least six favor will occupy the rank of Noble Consort. The four players which rank fourth to seventh and have at least three favor will be counted as Consorts. People who have less than three favor or fall lower than seventh in the overall ranking will occupy the rank of Concubine and be vanilla. Ties will be resolved through seniority (who had the higher ranking last NP).
This ranking will be run every NP and will determine each player's ranking during the next NP. You should have a list of roles in your role PM. The first two roles will be odd or even night only abilities, and the third will be a passive ability. Next to them, the rank at which you gain access to those abilities will be specified. You have already been sent a summary of your favor, your rank, and the abilities available to you NP1.

In 1735, Prince Hongli ascended to the throne of the Qing Empire as the Qianlong Emperor. He would reign until his abdication in 1796 and then die in 1799, making him one of the longest-reigning monarchs in history. His reign saw the expansion of the Qing to its maximum size and the complete destruction and genocide of the Dzungar people, long a thorn in the side of the Great Qing – a feat accomplished with the help of the Turkic Uyghur peoples and other Mongol tribes. This cooperation also helped to forge alliances with these former rivals, stabilizing the volatile northwestern borderlands. This is the setting of this game's theme: the inner palace during one of China's golden ages.
The Qing Emperors had one primary wife (Empress), and several secondary wives who occupied various ranks (Noble Lady, Attendant, Noble Consort, Concubine, etc.). The Emperor's mother and the former Empress (at this point often different people) would both become Empress Dowagers when he ascended to the throne, and these were the most powerful women in the empire. The series is what's called a harem drama, a fictionalized, dramatized retelling of scandals and schemes among the Emperor's wives cloistered in the Forbidden City - all vying for favor, and many scheming to place their sons on the throne. As most historical records of these figures are basically hagiographies, the people who write these novels and adapt them have free range to invent interesting stories bound only by the bare-bones facts that remain in the historical record.
In this game, the Emperor (Vader) is town-confirmed and aloof. He cannot die, and unless your role specifically mentions the Emperor as its target he cannot be targeted by it. He does not count as a player for the purpose of determining votes to lynch and does not have a vote himself. Each NP, he will distribute favor to the harem, the amount varying with the number of players still alive as follows:
12, 11, 10 – four favor 1,1,1,1 or 2,1,1
9, 8, 7 – three favor 1,1,1 or 2,1
6, 5, 4 – two favor 1,1
3 favor 1
He can give two favor to one target if he has three or more favor to distribute, if not he can only give each consort one favor.

Going into DP2 I was sure scum was between Wylted or Magic, but I eventually I started scumreading Whiteflame and Kohai as well. Magic did a good job making himself seem less scummy that the alternatives. Didn't get the scum read on Wryly.

I'm going to bed this seems like the right choice to me.
In the game where I was scum with Whiteflame (I recruited him) he was a commuter and fakeclaimed ascetic, so it's fresh in my mind. I remember going over the pros and cons in my head but ultimately trusted whiteflame to go with the ascetic claim he wanted to use.
