Discord is boomin' but DC itself is relatively slow save for a few active users. I think part of it is just the appeal of fast chatting. A chatbox on DC could attract some more activity that could spill over into threads and broaden the active user pool.

Obviously Savant is a busy dude and this wouldn't be just a quick bit of code to write out, but wondering if the up-tops would consider it.

I'm interested in hearing about everyone's personal journey to their current religion, spirituality, agnosticism, or atheism. What led you to your faith? Or what led you away from faith?

So I've always understood canceling to refer to ostracism of prominent figures for perceived political incorrectness, and have viewed it as something the left mostly engages in. But increasingly I've heard people accusing the Trump administration of "canceling" Jimmy Kimmel and other figures, and also accusing JD Vance of encouraging the cancellation of anyone making inappropriate remarks about Charlie Kirk's killing.

Which leaves me wondering. Is canceling only ever something that happens to people not adhering to left-wing political correctness? What if someone is fired, shunned, boycotted, whatever, for not adhering to right-wing political correctness? Is this also cancel culture, or should we use a different word for it -- plain old censorship or suppression or ostracism -- because it's not coming from a place of sensitivity to minorities?

I hear this occasionally and I'm getting kind of tired of it.

Huxley coined the term agnostic to describe a reasonable philosophy: In matters of the intellect, follow your reason as far as it will take you, without regard to any other consideration, and do not pretend that conclusions are certain which are not demonstrated or demonstrable.

Admitting that you cannot know if God exists or not seems like a pretty rational stance, yet it's sometimes maligned as cowardice by ideological edgelords.

Even if someone happens to be hiding under the tent of agnosticism out of religious apathy or conflict avoidance, it doesn't mean agnosticism is inherently cowardly.
