Check out this role in the set up thread. This is a potential scum role. Holy shit this role is actually OP. And I got hate for including a Yakuza or a Tailor lmao. This role is way more bastard and chaotic. That said, if this role exists it needs to be executed with precision the likes I think only a small few people are capable of pulling off, so in dp2 and onward I will by hyper analyzing people's posting styles for consistency. You should do the same with me.

I mean, I agree that it's crazy strong, but in this case we all know it's possibly in the game. That normally doesn't apply to Death Tailor, which I still feel is very bastard tbh. Yakuza is probably fine but it seems very difficult to balance well. In any case, I do agree that it would be really hard to pull off well. Unlike with Death Tailor, you have to craft more than just one message well.

Lean Town:

Gerard - I think the PM stuff was NAI. I could see him doing this as scum as a WIFOM thing to try to garner town cred because it brings unnecessary attention. The town side though is the interaction with Brand. Probably the bane of Brand’s existence.

Caine - Feels town just based on vibes and the sheer wagoning that he’s doing. The MO fits the previous game as well.

Can you elaborate on the Caine read? He feels pretty null to me so far. His wagoning in the last game felt much more detailed from what I saw. Tho I am basing that largely on late game stuff, so maybe that's a little unfair. But I haven't seen anything yet that immediately makes me lean one way or the other from him.

Tilt Scum:

Llewella - I think these pseudo-vanilla games make it easier to lurk as scum and avoid posting. The posts this person has made just seem snarky for a bit until fading into no existence because other shit pops up

Martin - I think the passive aggressiveness is what I picked up on last game. It was a tiny push, yet an obvious push. Sort of like seeing what sticks. It didn’t stick on me obviously, but with someone like Llewella, odds are greater if sticks.

Re: Martin - I tend to always townread them which is a problem, but something about their behavior this game pings me as different somehow. I'm a little tired and trying to get caught up in time so I'm having a hard time assembling my thoughts well, but when I realized who they were I was like, "Wait, really? That's them?" Plus, you seem to be the one person who always sees through them. You are to Martin as a certain other player (I'll try to avoid breaking the rules even though the one about not claiming who you are is basically already dead) is to me. Somehow he can always immediately tell when I'm scum; I don't get it.

Statistically the odds of scum claiming Vanilla are high. I’m going to stick to my strategy. You agreed with Caine. I just asked Martin to claim cause I thought they were someone else. But even assuming that half of town (let’s say 6) is VT and all 3 scum claiming Vanilla, you’re looking at a 33% chance of outright catching scum

The hard thing with you is I know you as scum would say the same thing here and just post justify and debate the reason you were right here. It's not the logic that pings me, its the motive and behavior around it. Coming off a game where I observed you as confirmed town, I got to see you play in a way that was much more conservative and open minded, maybe with the exception of helz. You were asking questions and trying to make it look like you were giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, even opting to lynch shining over banana when you had a jailkeep on her and a stopped night kill. So now your telling me your vote isn't RVS but are still defending the logic behind the vote, so that's kind of indicative of scum Flora here to me. Again I'll let you cook, but if you stick to your guns here it might just look scummier to me ngl.

Flora is probably the hardest player on this site for me to read overall, so I have to say that I really appreciate this insight.

Agree. I hate how they were so enthusiastic about lynching me on post #125 and completely dropped it after I claimed and you moved on.

Well he didn't completely drop it, because he said he was willing to lynch either of the VT's, so that is kind of why I am wondering why he's going for such a strong RVS play this game rather than really trying. Last game as confirmed town he was asking tons of questions especially in the last day phase. Not seeing that is raising red flags and triggering alarm bells. But again it's early.

Well not a single person so far as even really attempted to disguise their posting styles or change the times from when they are usually active. So cat's out of the bag on this one. In my situation I literally can't hide who I am because I am a night owl working grave yard shifts, so it would be pretty obvious to anyone who I was when I am posting neurotically all night lol. That said there is a chance people are meta gaming this and trying to pretend to be other people. I am open to that for sure.

Yeah Gerard and Brand both seem scummy to me. Brand for the mass claim float, Gerard for the role PM OGI and weird reactions - just seems like scum trying to scumhunt knowing it's safe and will produce nothing.

I don't agree. I've seen calls for massclaiming in a few games before and to my recollection they've always come from town. Plus, what do you mean by weird reactions? (ignore if you've already clarified)

VT is more sus in a normal game, and by normal I mean a heavy mech style game like what you and me are used to. But Magoroth comes from MU where VT's are way more common. Also the set up thread basically tells us that there is multiple VT's if you analyze it closely, so in this situation, I am almost going to treat VT's as the standard.

Fair enough, I get where you're coming from. This is definitely a very different sort of game from the ones we normally have on here, I think switching things up occasionally is a good thing. The only thing is that I don't think anonymous games work well on really small communities like this. Everyone knows everyone else too well.

Why is claiming VT sus? There are 12 players, and a maximum of 6 town roles listed in the set up thread. Meaning at bare minimum there should be 2-3 Vanillas, potentially more.

The idea is that the game wasn't up yet, and only a few people had received their accounts early as indicated by the pfp change. Mafia usually get role pm's earlier than town does, in my experience. I got the timestamps wrong though, so it was NAI, but it made sense. Also it was a mix of RVS to get activity going along side being an actual read. I don't think I would have outright lynched them over that logic if their behavior made sense, because there is a realm of possibility that the mod just randomly gave some town role pm's early. But it was a good way to kick off getting people to post.
