On foreign policy he is pretty great. On economics he is at least not completely retarded.

His economic policy is to make prices go down by increasing the cost of goods, and I already made the absurdity of his foreign policy clear.

Are there any policies in particular you like that you would care to enlighten us on?

Double_R
Is US citizenship a right or a privilege?

This is an odd question to ask. I would say neither, because right vs privilege is categorically a different conversation. The constitution defines what a citizen *is*, and being a citizen determines what rights one is entitled to.

I agree the domicile issue was stupid, but when you have no other hand to play…

I would be surprised if a single justice votes along with Trump, in fact that would be a travesty for such a clear cut case. As you eluded to, this entire issue hinges on “subject to the j jurisdiction thereof”, but I don’t think your apparent position on that is ultimately tenable.

The idea that a person who comes into this country from another isn’t subject to the jurisdiction of the United States is not reasonable. And if they’re not subject to our jurisdiction, then whose? Can another country prosecute someone in their country for shoplifting in ours? Is that their responsibility and not ours?

The entire point of this carve out is to addressee two groups of people; foreign diplomats and invading forces. If Russian troops suddenly stormed the coast of California and were subject to the jurisdiction thereof then they would be entitled to due process, but that’s obviously not how that works out how it should.

None of this applies to someone born to parents who are here illegally, so the whole case falls apart. I don’t think any federal judge in their right mind would not be able to see that.

Double_R
I'm sure Red Maga uses the same words you do with as much evidence.

I'm sure you believe that, which is what makes it so mind boggling.

I just gave you 9 paragraphs to back up my position, which for me was an exercise in restraint, and to which you didn’t absorb a word. But tell me more about how evidence based MAGA is.

Double_R
There's also the Trump=hating cult. Both cults are as blind as bats.

What separates MAGA from anti-MAGA comes down to a simple question; do you hold all president’s to the same standard? If you do, you’re anti-MAGA. If you’re MAGA, you clearly don’t.

Just look at Trump’s war with Iran. A war he started unilaterally, and flat out tells reporters he can’t call it a war because his lawyers tell him not to. In other words, his administration is well aware that this is blatantly unconstitutional, but they get around that by just calling it something else.

With regards to the objectives? It was about regime change, but nothing’s changed and that’s fine. It was about stopping their nuclear program, which we obliterated 8 months prior, which was an imminent threat a month ago, that we’ve now destroyed for good, even though they rebuilt it in 8 months before, but not this time, cause this time we obliterated them.

And the straight of Hormuz? We need international cooperation, but we don’t need anyone, cause we have all the oil we need so it’s their problem and doesn’t impact us, as we tap into our emergency oil reserves, and it’s fine cause it’ll open in its own, even though it’s closed now by a country with no arms cause we obliterated them.

Talks? We took out the regime so they’re all dead, but we’re having talks right now with the right people, and they sent me a gift so they’re definitely the right people and it’s going well, but they better make a deal soon otherwise we’ll blow up all their civilian infrastructure (a war crime btw), oh and did I mention they’re all dead?

No president in the history of the country would get away with this kind of blatant incoherence and absurdity. And that’s just one issue, it’s to say nothing about his breathtaking corruption, his self defeating economic policies, his insane childishness, his obsession with having his name on everything, his disregard for the constitution, etc. etc. etc… If Joe Biden had done 1/10th of the crap Trump has they would have lost their minds.

To this day they talk about Biden as having been asleep, as Trump is literally asleep at every cabinet meeting.

Hillary Clinton said basket of deplorables and the right still talks about that 10 years later. If Trump said that it wouldn’t even register, he insults his political adversaries for sport and that would be one of his weakest ones.

Not even two weeks ago a decorated veteran and former FBI Director passed away and Trump responded by stating publicly “I’m glad he’s dead”. There is not a single person in Congress whose political career would have survived a second beyond such a disgusting and vile comment. But it’s Trump, so we’ve already forgotten it and moved on.

Sam Harris I think put it best when he said if Trump were half as bad he would seem worse, because then it would be recognizable. The derangement isn’t seeing how bad Trump is, it’s thinking that there is anything normal or acceptable about having a man like this in the Oval Office.

Double_R
So my question is: in your view, with regard to misgendering, is the aversion to sex categorizations being made in the first place, or just the terms "man" and "woman" being used?

I don’t think it’s an aversion, I think what you’re sensing it’s a response to being dehumanized. Many trans people don’t see themselves as fitting neatly into one of the two traditional categories, and those that do are well aware that the people limiting gender to only two options would place them in the opposite. So they’re basically being told that they either don’t exist, or are so delusional that they themselves don’t understand what category they fit into.

To your other question; whether they would accept a redefinition of the terms as you described depends on the intent. If it’s to maintain simplicity while being more inclusive then yes, if it’s a way of disregarding that these people exist, then no.

Double_R
Trump has not committed a Holocaust during his time as POTUS.

No one claimed he did, so what is your point?

If what you say occurs, then nobody will care. It's not like you can expect JD Vance to get executed. Who would execute him? Maybe short term embarrassment at best. But who cares about that?

If executions are all you care about then go back to playing call of duty.

I’m talking about how all these people surrounding Trump while pretending he is not a delusional bigoted childish ignorant narcissist will in time start telling us that they were really just honorable people who saw it the whole time and were fighting it from the inside.

The simple fact is that the only thing motivating these people is proximity to power, and once Trump is gone and that veneer is gone, no one left will be able to get away with the stupidity and vileness he made central to American politics. Right now Trump acts like a shield to these people, once that shield is gone they will scatter like roaches.

This matters because it speaks to what is happening right now. Right wing MAGA friendly news is nothing but propaganda and right wing voters are mostly living in a world of lies and bullshit. You will of course tell me I’m full of it, but when Trump is gone we’ll both watch as what I’m saying becomes more and more apparent over time just as it did in Germany.

Double_R
I hope. I heard someone say, "MAGA is dead". It's coming soon. Eventually, MAGA will literally be dead when Trump dies in a few months.

I just hope he can wait till after the midterms. Right now democrats are slated to win bigly, a Trump passing is probably the only realistic event shocking enough to alter that trajectory.

You know it’s funny, I was watching Nuremberg the other day and I think we’re going to see a similar sentiment from what we saw with Hitler’s Generals; watch how fast everyone in his absence will start pretending it wasn’t them, they didn’t know anything, they were fighting back from the inside. I don’t know if it’ll take 5 years, 10 years, or 50, but Trump will go down as the worst president certainly in modern history if not ever.

Double_R
If TDS made discussiona stupider just don't engage in it

We can’t “not engage in it”, this is the national conversation now. Trump won reelection because of these ridiculous lies, that makes them necessarily relevant issues within American politics.

This is exactly why myself and many others like me were so worried about Trump winning in 2016. I remember Thanksgiving that year when my mother and sister, who don’t follow politics closely asked me what I thought about Trump winning and I told them that out of everything I could talk about, the thing that concerned me the most about it is that he’s a conspiracy theorist. This might have sounded like a benign issue at the time, but I would say everything I expressed about him then has been proven right.

We’ve seen presidents come along and make really bad decisions, catastrophic even. But what Trump has left behind is way worse. At least after we invaded Iraq we had the capability of recognizing that we made a terrible mistake. Trump has disarmed the American populace of the cognitive tools needed to do that. To a conspiracy theorist, there is no such thing as proof of being wrong, there is only proof that others are too involved in the conspiracy.

Trump is a cancer on the American mind, and the fact that we’re can’t even agree on whether the sky is blue anymore is far more damaging than any bad decision a president could make. Trump is Putin’s wet dream realized.

Double_R
As the Trump era coms to a close, people will find politics boring. Was anyone on this site also on DDO in 2014? It must have been very dull back then.

DDO was far more active and political discussion was better than what we’ve had here.

A big reason for that is that back then political debate was far more intelligent. In those days, we used to argue about things like top marginal tax rates and philosophical approaches to healthcare. Now we argue over whether the 2020 election was stolen, whether it is acceptable for a president of the United States to be shitposting at 2am on social media, or whether a Fox News weekend host is a good choice to be Secretary of Defense.

We’re so far down the rabbit hole by this point that intellectual conversation isn’t really possible. Perhaps once Trump is gone and the shield all these political figures are hiding behind is no longer a factor, maybe then we can get back to something resembling intellectual discussion.

Double_R

Crazy as it is to say, I was rooting for Talarico. I love Crockett but the dems could really use Texas if they’re going to take the senate, I just don’t think there’s any way a black woman can win there. Talarico was built for a place like that, so while I would still lean R on my prediction here, I think he’s got a real shot.

Double_R
It's only "inherently" good if your ideological goal is classical liberalism.

If your ideological goal parallels Marxism or Fascism, then it's inherently evil.

Or, your goal could be for a government that is producing the best benefit to cost ratio reasonably possible. Ever think of that? No, of course not.

It's just recommendations.

Recommendations that were clearly acted upon with little to no oversight.

Double_R
It's always better to cut too deep when removing waste as you can immediately hire back.

Just because you don’t know what someone does for a living or why it matters doesn’t make their work waste, it just makes you ignorant.

The fact that they had to immediately hire back people on multiple occasions because it was only in their immediate absence that they discovered what these people did, unquestionably proves that they had no idea what they were doing. And again, the key phrase here is “immediate absence”. That’s to say nothing about the long term damages yet to be discovered given that they were, again, fired by people who didn’t know what they do in the first place.

You’re not coming from a place of logic and reason, this argument is pure partisan hackery. You have bought into the right wing ideology that any government position is by definition bad, so firing government workers is inherently good. With that starting point there is nothing they could have done that you would disagree with. It’s religious level fanaticism.

He's never deviated from his pro choice stance

He’s literally told the story of meeting a great kid whose mom wanted to abort him as his stated reason for switching to pro life. But tell me more.

Also, please stop being pathetically devout to MAGA. The guy appointed justices to the Supreme Court because of their opposition to Roe v Wade who would eventually overturn it, so he’s literally responsible for the illegality of abortion all throughout this country. To credit him as being pro choice is unbelievably stupid.

And "big balls" is literally a genius

His IQ is irrelevant to whether he is qualified enough and mature enough to be given the responsibility of deciding the fate of thousands upon thousands of government workers, many of whom have been in their professions since he was sucking his mothers tits.

his self made AI program that you could never accomplish in two lifetimes.

I built from scratch the scheduling program my company uses to cover its daily operation. What used to take weeks of training and sometimes hours per day of manual work is now done in a few minutes. After years of searching for an external company that could offer this and being told over and over again that their software didn’t have those capabilities, I decided to just make it myself, using excel.

So yeah, totally irrelevant but I’m not totally impressed by someone who’s able to build software. That still doesn’t qualify them to fire thousands of people in positions he has no concept of.

Double_R
Democrats opposed DOGE because it was cutting things like trans drag shows in Peru

We opposed DOGE because we didn’t like the idea of a bunch of drugged out teenagers like “Big Balls” walking into government agencies and firing people en masse without even knowing what it is that they do, like guarding our nuclear weapons for example.

Trump has a plan to cut military spending by 15% over the next 5 years.

It is hilarious anytime someone claims Trump has a plan on anything. The man is every bit as out of it as you guys claimed Joe Biden was, is a pathological liar, has shown us no such plan, and has raised military spending at every turn. But tell me more about these plans.

It's actually odd also that you are trying to group the 90s Democrats like me and Trump who took over the party with the Republicans we opposed in the 90s without changing any of our policy positions.

Trump’s position on abortion certainly changed. But he’s always been a fascist, so there’s that.

Double_R
this isnt true. In fact, trump government saw bigger real wage increase in 2017 to start of 2021, than both previous Obama and next Biden combined.

So what? This is exactly the kind of cherry picking I’m talking about. Economies are massively complex, yet in order to give Trump high grades you focus on single statistics that you can tout while ignoring the greater picture.

I don’t blame Trump for Covid (even though his handling of it was horrendous), but your stated standard does, so why are you telling me about real wages during his first 3 years while the economy had collapsed during the 4th?

All of this is to save face because your original claim (the one this entire conversation is about) - that “inflation” logically supports that Trump’s economy today is better than what Harris’s economy would have been - is nonsensical.

But to show you that I am not supporting trump, I have made a new thread where I show attack on Iran is terrible mistake.

Appreciate that… I guess? But my point here isn’t that you’re a “Trump supporter”, it’s that you’re bending over backwards here to argue for him, not because you love him, but because you made an original claim and you’ve become fixated on proving it rather than exploring it in good faith.

The support for that last point is the way you have mischaracterized my position all throughout this thread. I never weighed in either way on whether Biden did a good job on inflation, I never blamed Trump for anything Biden did, I clarified numerous times that global inflation doesn’t mean every country experiences inflation all at the same time, etc. etc. etc. but you kept going back to attacking those made up positions, because you couldn’t support your own.

Double_R
We are not going to control for what Biden inherited

You’re just fundamentally unserious.

Your position is that we judge presidents by their results, full stop. And you defined that further by saying we judge presidents for whether they improved things.

So let’s apply that standard. Trump inherited a strong growing economy and left an economy in collapse, meanwhile Biden inherited an economy in collapse and left behind a recovered growing economy. But you praise Trump as having handled the coming better.

You get there because you cherry pick Trump’s best years while fixating on Biden’s worst. You say you’re not defending Trump, yet you shift the goal posts based on whatever makes him look better than Biden.

That’s every bit the bot behavior you accuse me of. Turns out to be pure projection.

Double_R
Just when I thought he was going to stop blaming trump for what Biden did...

Never once in this thread blamed Trump for anything Biden did. this is purely made up. Pay attention, that would help your reading comprehension quite a bit.

Just when I thought he was going to say "Yes, Biden didnt do a good job in 2021".

I have never once on this thread weighed in either way on whether Biden did a good job on inflation. You hear me saying this because you’re not reading, you’re just rehearsing your biases. Pay attention.

Double_R
I see that you are dodging my arguments and seeking excuses for Biden

Translation: “I do not read, I just inject into your arguments whatever I find convenient for me. So even though this conversation started with a very simple claim I made, I’m just going to pretend you’re arguing affirmatively for that which I disagree with cause I can’t support my own conclusions”

Noted.

Double_R
C. trump's first term is better than Biden's term, and by extension, better than Kamala's possible term

Yeah, this one odd worth repeating/ diving deeper into because of how absurd this is.

Donald Trump inherited the economy Obama handed him, which has been growing for 7 straight years. More jobs were created under the final 3 years of Obama than the first 3 years under Trump, so under Trump job creation actually slowed down. Trump also exploded the deficit, so economic gains during that time are not impressive, that’s the expected result when you decide to rack up the credit card during times when it’s not needed.

Biden meanwhile inherited the greatest unemployment we have seen in our lifetimes, and had to figure out how to get a vaccine distributed because the previous administration literally sabotaged the vaccine roll out due to the baby-in-chiefs temper tantrum over losing the election. Then once that was handled, he had to deal with the fact that businesses and factories not just here but all over the world had been closed down permanently, so while demand was roaring back, there was no way for the supply to catch up.

Comparing these two things is laughable. Any halfway educated person knows that in order to compare two things you have to isolate for their variables, which is extremely difficult to do when dealing with something as massively complex as a country’s economy. But to you it’s all the same. That’s why you continue to make these ridiculous arguments. Do better.

Double_R
No, in 2021, it wasnt. And US levels of inflation werent present in most countries or in most advanced countries.

This isn’t even ignorance at this point, this is clearly disingenuous.

The first tell is that you continue to cherry pick 2021 because you think it makes your case look better, while ignoring that inflation was a 3 year period.

You also qualify your statement by saying “US level” inflation wasn’t present in most countries, which based on your prior arguments is clearly an attempt to exclude countries whose inflation was slightly better even if quantitatively no different from the US.

You also still do not acknowledge that even according to your own numbers, inflation was in fact extremely elevated in most advanced countries around the world demonstrating clearly that this wasn’t a problem unique to the US and therefore was clearly not caused by Joe Biden, undercutting the point that this entire conversation is actually about.

All of this together goes to show that you aren’t a serious person on this, you are doing the very thing you are accusing me of doing, starting with a position and refusing to budge no matter how clearly you are shown to be wrong.

but because real wages decreased under Biden in 2021, I dont see how including other parts of economic calculation helps your case.

The only case I have made in this case is that your arguments here are nonsense. I know that’s difficult to parse but try. What you’re doing is exactly the same as the juror who thinks not guilty means innocent. They’re different things.

I don’t have to argue that Joe Biden did a great job handling inflation in order to argue that you cannot rationally defend blaming him for inflation. Those are totally different things. You are conflating them because you can’t tell the difference. That’s on you, not me.

Bringing this back to your point here, simply citing that real wages increased under Trump is, without further support (like explaining what he actually did to accomplish this) meaningless. You are comparing the two presidents purely by their economic results while ignoring the fact that they inherited two totally different sets of circumstances. Trump inherited a strong, growing and stable economy. Biden inherited an economy shut down over a global pandemic that Trump flagrantly mismanaged. That’s as apples to oranges as it gets.

Getting back to business causes 5 times higher inflation? Where did you get this calculation from?

It’s your calculation, you tell me.

And then logically, US should have recovered from inflation first, but it didnt.

That’s not got global economies work.

My god dude, talk to an actual economist.

Double_R
Now, your original claim was that rest of the world had same inflation, which I disproved, and then you said its wrong to compare USA to rest of the world.

OMG. No. No. No.

My original claim is that your claim - that the economy now is better than it would have been under Kamala - flies in the face of all available facts and reason.

It is your logical support for that claim that I am arguing against, which can be summarized as follows:

P1: Kamala would have been the same as Biden

P2: Biden had high inflation

C: Kamala would have had high inflation

This argument is total nonsense for all the reasons I explained, which I’ll explain again.

Inflation was not ***primarily*** caused by Joe Biden. Inflation was a global phenomenon that resulted from global circumstances that Joe Biden did not create. Therefore there is no reason whatsoever to believe that what you are characterizing as a second Biden term, would have had the same result.

You tried to refute my assertion that inflation was global by showing world averages or examples of nations that didn’t experience inflation.Global doesn’t mean every nation on earth experienced the same thing. It means the circumstances were not isolated to a single country or single cluster of countries that are tied together (Google the prefix “pan”). The root cause of inflation was covid, which was experienced everywhere on earth, but different countries experienced different results because they have different economies. So you can’t compare them all to each other. That’s economics 101.

You say that I’m arguing Biden did a great job on inflation. No, I never did that. Pay attention. What I argued explicitly is that the US under Biden during this period of global instability was not uniquely bad. Your own AI generated statistics, problematic as they are, said the exact same thing. You’re trying to turn this into a contest of who came out on top vs the bottom while no serious economist would look at it that way. What matters is not ranking, it’s comparability. It doesn’t matter if the US was at 22.0 while the EU was 21.1. Both numbers are extremely and uniquely bad to which there is no meaningful difference between them. That’s what matters, especially within the context of this conversation.

Moreover, while you cherry pick every reason you can find to claim the US was worse on inflation than everyone else, like fixating on 2021, you are totally ignoring the factors at play which could explain it. The US under Biden (with thanks to Trump’s operation warp speed) was ahead of the world when it came to getting its population vaccinated, which resulted in a faster recovery in getting back to business. It is that shift which triggered the start of inflation because that is where the supply chains disruptions came into play. So when you look at the totality of the situation we were facing, high inflation early on wasn’t necessarily a bad thing because it signaled that we were handling the immediate recovery better than mostly everyone else. You seem to not realize this, but inflation is not the only thing that matters in grading economies. I would argue that getting Americans off their couches and back into the workforce was a higher priority.

So, pop quiz:

Was high inflation a problem unique to the US that could be explained mostly or entirely by Joe Biden’s policies?

Did I ever argue that Joe Biden did a great job on inflation?

Did I ever argue that high inflation occurred everywhere on earth?

If you answered yes to any of those, start back and the top and read again as many times as you need to.

Double_R
Yeah, USA did have among worst inflation rates in the world during Biden. While political bots want to instruct AI to argue for their side, and as a result, lead AI to wrong conclusion, I simply ask AI if something is true or not.

What I asked ChatGPT which lead to that eventual result was:

Q1: What was US inflation by month in 2023?

Q2: What about 2024?

Q3: How about from July on?

Q4: how does that compare to other nations?

That’s literally it, word for word. Nothing about that string of questions asks for a particular result or even hints as to what answer I wanted.

Your question however, asked AI to compare US inflation to world averages, which if you were to ask anyone who knows anything about economics understands is a stupid question because many economies around the world are not comparable to the US. You know who else knows this? ChatGPT, which is why, without me asking or hinting, automatically compared US inflation to “peer nations”.

So the projection here is staggering. I am the one here aware of the fact that AI will feed me whatever I want and adapt my questions appropriately to remove bias. You are the one who doesn’t seem to recognize the boundaries of your own ignorance and without even knowing it are plugging your conclusions into AI to spit back the answer you’re looking for.

You are the very bot you accuse me of being.

Double_R
When debating me, he actually assumes I am a republican or trump supporter even after I repeatedly told him I am not.

No genius, I’m responding to the arguments you made.

You argued, with no evidence and in spite of the obvious reasons to conclude otherwise, that the economy today is better than it would have been under Harris.

When challenged to support that argument, the only thing you could come up with is “inflation”, while ignoring the fact that inflation was a global phenomenon, leaving no reason at all to presume that Biden caused it or that Trump would have handled it any better.

So when pressed to justify your support you then resorted to the position the presidents are responsible for whatever happens during their term, no further thought required. And when I challenged you on that idea, you ultimately resorted to blaming Trump for Covid.

Now you are still trying to claw your way out of that hole. The latest is to try and turn this into an inflation statistic battle, and even went so low as to compare Biden’s inflation in 2021 with Trump’s inflation in 2020. Yeah, 2020, as in when damn near half the entire country was unemployed. Cause that’s much better.

But I’m the one with TDS. Wow.

Why would you copy republicans? I thought you hated them.

Im not copying them, I’m responding to your argument and showing you how silly it is. Here, you argued that the democrats are weak because they refused to check their leader who is obviously cognitively impaired.

Well I hate to break it to you, but we have a two party system here, so if one of the two parties is weak because they don’t check their leader, then the other would have to be better, but yet the other party is worse. Way worse.

So, logically, the issue here is not that one party refuses to check their leader. The issue is that we have an electorate in this country that does not hold both parties to the same standards. And you by even pushing this argument demonstrate the problem first hand regardless of who you voted for. That’s the point.

Double_R
Now start making excuses why Biden performed much worse than these nations.

I’m just going to turn this one over to AI;

Bottom Line
Post-COVID inflation performance:
2021–2022: U.S. inflation rose sharply (similar to peers) 📈
2023–2024: U.S. inflation fell relatively quickly 📉
Overall: Better than many advanced countries, but not uniquely good.

Sadly, the idea that global pandemic is the only thing causing rise in prices is an assumption which is most obviously incorrect

Which is why I never made it. Google the word “primarily”.

the idea that president has no power to manage economy to reduce influence of global pandemic is another assumption which is most obviously incorrect.

Never said that either. You really love arguing with yourself.

So you want to blame entire inflation on global pandemic

Nope. Google the word “primarily”. I used it for a reason.

And to make things worse, this same pandemic which existed during trump, somehow didnt cause inflation at all during trump. You really say the silliest things.

The reason inflation “somehow” didn’t increase during Covid is because businesses were closed and people were unemployed. So supply plummeted… and so demand. When businesses started opening back up again in 2021 after vaccines became widely available, demand picked back up, but many of the businesses supplying the products were thrown completely out of whack as most suppliers, the ones that made it past covid, adjusted their business models to fit a Covid world. That caused a major supply shortages, and when demand returns faster than supply… prices go up. It’s not mystery, it’s kindergarten level economics.

Double_R
So trying to use "Occam's razor" to figure out single cause of inflation is…

Google the word “primarily”. Then read my statement… again.

And throwing yourself at war with Russia sure as hell helped inflation too, but lets not mention that.

So Putin ordering a “special operation” where he sends his military into Ukraine to take control of it, is Ukraine throwing themselves at war???

Or is “yourself” in this statement the United States, in which case… we’re at war with Russia???

I’m confused. What is the story in your fantasy riddled mind?

And lets not mention that inflation lasted till the very end of Biden's term

Inflation was at 2.7% at the end of Biden’s term, and was at about that level the entire last year as well as most of 2023. Tell me more.

And now you want to pretend that a man who was literally insane in the final year of his term managed economy great.

No, I’m pretending that your original claim that Trump’s economy now is better than Harris’s economy would have been is pure nonsense. You’re grasping for straws because you have nothing else.

Only idiots need simplest explanation

The simplest explanation is literally how we determine which explanation is most plausible, says centuries of philosophical thought.

there is no more simple explanation than "if things bad, leader is at fault".

Perhaps I should take that last part back, apparently you do not understand the concept of simplicity within Occam’s razor.

In OR, the simplest explanation is not the dumbest or easiest to articulate, it’s the explanation that requires the fewest assumptions. The president of the United States single handily causing global inflation… that requires enormous assumptions, starting with the idea that the president has that kind of power in the first place. The idea that a global pandemic that shut down businesses all over the world would make products harder to get, which would make them more expensive, doesn’t require any assumptions, only a kindergarten level understanding of supply and demand.

That’s what we’re talking about. And that matters because you said inflation being a global phenomenon is not proof that he didn’t cause it, which is only true if you ignore that fact (in which case it’s not proof because the proof itself was hand waived away), or it’s not proof because the listener isn’t interested in utilizing basic critical thinking (in which case the concept of proof has no meaning at all).

your use of occam's razor itself in such a retarded way because it actually has nothing to do with "simplest explanation"

It’s not my use, it’s how every notable philosopher in human history has used the term or at least employed it, because it is in fact common sense that only requires some internal analyzing to understand was there the whole time.

If you still don’t understand it, google it.

you make excuses for total incompetence

No, that’s what you’re doing by blaming the Democratic Party for the fact that too many Americans are too stupid to understand that there’s more to grading a president than “inflation bad, Biden president, therefore Biden bad”.
