Was thinking about this too. Luna confirmed publically that he had knowledge a Poisoner was in the game. We saw an NK happen. Doesn’t make sense to give scum Poisoner and NK. It makes sense for a TP Poisoner to exist especially considering 8-2-1 is more balanced.

Claiming Framer is just mind boggling. It’s just stirring up more chaos. I think he’s just doubling down on all of his scumminess. Like asking for people’s starting Favor is so insanely scummy, and then mass claim, and then Empress, and now this? I believe he realized his mistake as scum and has been hard defending himself while trying to appear as scummy as possible to WIFOM us out. My strongest read is the redundancy that I talked about yesterday. I just caught Earth with it the previous game. It’s posting to post, and he’s basically been doing that all game.

I notice Pie hasn't talked much. No matter. With the topic of Mago, I feel like he is REALLY pushing for mass claim and I'm not sure hes scummy for it. If I was his buddy, I would be telling him to chill. Still, we should mass claim no sooner than DP2, at least. DP1 is just madness.
The scummiest part was asking everyone to reveal how much favor people start with. Like that is so direct, and I can’t believe everyone missed that so far in what I’ve read
I still think we should mass claim what abilities we have access to. If scum tells the truth, and they don’t use their fake claim, they will be forced to use their abilities either in a pro-Town way, rendering them kinda useless to them, or take a risk and use their abilities anyway in spite of lying about it.

So, wait, what's the issue with Magoroth now? Awesome says his "posts are atrocious" and Wylted's just buying in because he trusts Awesome. I guess the pushback on softclaiming flavor is a little off because he's almost defensive of scum here (who have been given two fake claims anyway), but nothing has looked that bad.

To inject some behavioral analysis into our flavor analysis, I'm curious about wylted's history of fake-claiming. Does he tend to concoct weird claims, or would he probably just say I'm a Miller?
Wylted is horrible at fake claiming. If there is no Miller, he’s either town or this was a fake claim given by REF.
I don’t really want to soft-claim flavour just because it would feel like shit if I was Scum and got caught due to flavour. So I’d appreciate flavour not being a part of the discussion.

I'm scumreading this. It seems to me like that the central element of a harem-themed game should be sweet-talking the Emperor. Scum probably do have at least some counters to town's abilities, but not incentivizing scum to charm Vader would be flavorless.
My issue with this is that it’s redundant. Like ya scum have counters to town, no shit. It’s how I caught Earth the previous game. It’s talking to talk
Wylted is probably town. Miller is a risky claim but the way he claimed it and his realization about the complex mechanization of his role makes it seem more legit to me. I think we can move past him.
If it were anyone but Wylted, I would’ve agreed with you, but the way he specified after that it was only when he got to Imperial is weird to me. I’m wondering if it was a fake claim to begin with.
Also heads up I am generally not a fan of games that have weird flavor mechanics, I signed up for this one as a return favor since rex signed up for mine, but I just wanna play normal mafia, so I am going to try to treat this like a normal mafia game as much as possible. I honestly don't understand why mods want to over complicate stuff like this all the time, it seems like it always frustrates the players and ultimately always favors mafia.
First initial read is that Wryly seems kinda shy. It could be her personality, it could also be due to her alignment.

If I have this right, we've got an Emperor (Vader) who will be handing out favor every NP. The favor determines your ranking, which can fall into one of five categories: Concubine, Consort, Noble Consort, Imperial Noble Consort and Empress.
Scum have been given two fake claims (I don't think we get a lot out of pushing for softclaims with those, nor do I think outing the Empress is a good idea with a complex theme split), which means it's likely there are two scum in this game, with maybe a TP in the mix.
Hopefully I've at least got the gist. I've read through the posts so far and I find it pretty confusing that a negative utility role like Miller would activate from having more favor.

I agree with the Miller being activated with more favor being odd. But on the flip side from a balance standpoint it makes more sense. My concern is that this was a fake claim and the back track was a consequence of fellow scum realizing the slip

Well... here’s a thought. I assume Empress is Town. I also assume scum know which abilities are in the game, so it’s not like they would have to make up some night actions that aren’t possible, so there’s no value to the Empress hiding these night actions.
I think Empress should instaclaim right now and tell us what abilities she has access to. Then, Vader decides on who to make the Empress. We can also determine who to give favour to, etc.
Honestly, maybe it’s a good idea to claim how much favour everyone has? Idk.
This post is just full of red flags for me. First, there’s no guarantee the Empress is a townie based on OP. The double vote is OP in the hands of scum. Ideally there should just not be an Empress as it’s too risky.
Second, if you think the Empress is town, it makes no sense for them to reveal themselves cause they become a target for scum.
Third, if you believe they’re town there’s no point in them claiming cause it purely benefits scum
I doubt Rex would force scum to “work their charms” on Vader so that he grants them night abilities. It’s likely that whatever night actions Vader can grant, scum have the ability to counter them (somehow).
People have roles in the game that can also give favor. But yes, it’s kind of common sense that scum have counters to town roles
I'm at a loss as to what soft claim format we could use, if we decided to soft. We're all female, all with variable ranks subject to change, and all harem... ites? Haremites? No that sounds like hare mites.
I don’t think soft claiming has any benefits at this stage with scum being given fake claims. I think the justification is going to be key here. If I die, which I usually do, focus on justification

I think just reading it over a few times, a spreadsheet would help. The gist I got was that there are 5 ranks based on how much favor you have compared to others:
Concubine (less than 3 favor or 8th rank or worse)
Consort - (greater or equal than 4 favor + rank 4-7)
Noble Consort - (greater or equal than 6 favor + rank 2 and 3)
Imperial Noble Consort - (greater or equal than 8 favor + rank 1 ie most favor)
Empress - Appointed/Deposed by Emperor (Supa)
Now the other part is that each rank is connected to abilities. Concubines are Vanilla. Consorts have an odd or even ability. Noble consorts have both an odd/even ability. Imperial noble consorts get both odd/even and a passive. Empress gets both odd/even, passive, and a double vote
Once we get claims going, we can start populating the spreadsheet with starting favor and based on favors given by Supa

The big issue I have is when a game can be solved by mass claiming. If a game is able to be solved through claiming characters alone then the game is fundamentally broken.
Where I come from flavor claiming is usually extremely banned and is only permitted when flavor is NAI.
The point of the rule is to preserve the integrity of the game.
Then give fake claims or make the theme split complex. Not that hard lol
