Why are you acting like I'm asking you to full claim. Just soft. Decision, event, or someone/something still leaves you with a broad cloak of options. I see no reason why there is any disadvantage to doing so, nor any advantage in refusing to do so, aside from not setting precedent of softing -- which only really aids your scum game imo

The whole point of softing is to increase credibility by nailing down at least a little detail of your role, something scum would be reluctant to do because they don't want to limit their fake claim choices at all too early. Even if they were given fake claims, they want more time to think of which roles should go with those characters and would be safe to claim, etc.

I fell the exact same way about people randomly seeking claims DP1. I think it's anti-town, lazy play. I punish it by forcing them to lynch me without claiming.

Just cause you think it’s random doesn’t mean you shouldn’t claim. People want you to claim for explained reasons and it’s guaranteed at L-1 that some townie think you’re scummy and want your claim.

Him FOSing others while cannily refusing to soft claim was an early point of suspicion for me last game when he was scum, and I failed to press him on it. Give me at least a definitive soft.

He's probably targeting Rex due to inactivity, no attempt to scumhunt, apparent indifference to who is lynched. The thing is these are all normal behaviors for Rex and don't really indicate anything alignment-wise -- which is not to say that they shouldn't be held to account, I suppose.

Exactly. You can’t change people’s behaviors if there’s no consequences for their actions. Just look at Earth. He’s a lot better now than he was before

Issue I have is that, while his posts are good, IMO they’re the type of safe logical posts that can come from either alignment. It shows he has a stake in the game but that doesn’t help me slot him one way or the other.

That’s Whiteflame for you. He’s impossible to read because he would do this as scum and town. Some other players are better at reading him than me. I usually rely on game mechanics and POE to get him

Yes it’s allowed, but it requires everyone outting their roles which allows scum to plan around them

I am a decision made by a team, either the Bears or their opponent

I am an event that happened to the Bears, not directly due to anyone's decision

I am someone or something else, like a specific player or coach

Also, at risk of mild OGI, Vader's statement in the signups thread that not having a Discord link means you are town is close to mod-confirmation that there are no third parties, not that we should have expected a third party with nine players. (What kind of evil moderator would put a third-party in a game with fewer than ten players??)
