I said earlier that one of my abilities is potentially kinda-sorta-confirmable, or, if it isn't now, then it could be depending on how things play out. Let's say that I claimed information about your guild that I couldn't have known unless I knew it from an ability or shared scum chat with your recruit. If I did, do you trust your recruits enough that you would see this as confirming me, or would you suspect a mole? Just a yes/no question.

Pie and Kohai are obviously pitted against each other here. It seems early for a distancing play, but with fake claims a distance play isn't so bad... but then Kohai just claimed himself. think it's more likely Kohai and Pie are unpaired off that.

Point taken about your guild leader considerations, but if neither you or wylted are inclined to verify his claim (understandable, given you'd essentially be handing over the decision of recruit to him), we're back to square one on him.

I think square one is a baseline good reason to lynch him, so not a bad thing.

Because there's more value to activating as many abilities as possible than hiding who has them. As we recruit more it becomes near certainly that mafia is in both guilds. Trying to hide recruits from the mafia assumes we only ever recruit town and risks both guilds recruiting the same player, activating less roles.

Just had a thought: Before my claim Thoth seemed to hint he knew some players may have themselves as their character. This is verified by my claim. That said how would he know this based on his claim?

This was stated in the discord during the pre game question phase by the mod himself.

You're in a position to verify part of his claim by attempting to recruit him. Do you not deem it worth the effort? Why?

My ability is more than a simple mason recruit. It's literally a factor in determining my win condition. Meaning I not only need to have a bigger group then wylted to even be eligible to win, I can't have any mafia inside this group either. So it makes literally no sense to recruit people who I scum read unless I wanted to actually game throw, because if he is lying about being unrecruitable, we learn the same thing we do from just straight up lynching him.

Also, I didn't wanna say this because I know it would set thoth off on an "I told you so rant" but I 100% agree with whiteflame that his claim isn't all that great. Jin Woo's is a major character, but she doesn't really align with what the theme seems to be. Like in this universe there is no reason a guild would recruit her, shes a basic human with no powers. I don't get the role justification because she isn't unrecruitable for any power related reason, she's unrecruitable because she would be absolutely useless to any guild. She shouldn't be anything other than a vanilla in this type of a set up. And the scum slip is too much to overlook as well.

LBH, max would have been inactive with or without passover. He has a big boy job, a new love interest, and doesn't spend too much free time on here. I am sure he joined purely at mikals pleading and prodding.

I am still mostly leaning towards lynching thoth. I want to wait for the inactives to post reads before we do. Anyways I'll be here keeping track of things in the mean time but I don't wanna spam post too much to make it harder for people like airmax to catch up. I'll spew most of my thoughts in the mason thread for now.

Also heads up: It probably wasn't tactically sound for me to expose my recruit targets. I did so with out talking to them thinking giving town more information would help. I stand by the decision to out my guild leader thing, but yeah in the future I am going to not say who my recruit targets are unless its absolutely necessary (IE they are getting lynched or something). Also wylted not complying to ousting his other recruit puts me in a weird compromised position where his guild has equal footing and technically and advantage now. So yeah no more spreading information about my guild.

Post 245 Thoth says that mestari and pie are fear kill targets. He has never played with mestari though and should have no reason to think that, implying that someone who knows mestari deeply from the old days of DDO told him that. Alyssa is very good friends with mestari and has a deep respect for mestari, but other than her and me no one here really ever played with him. Magic apparently played one with him, and airmax and Whiteflame were both technically on DDO as well but neither were really into the mafia scene and shouldn’t know about mestaris mafia legacy either. Therefor it seems a pretty safe assumption that he got the information about mestari being a fear kill from Alyssa who is his scum partner. When asked why he thought mestari was a good player he kind of fumbled worse by saying that he thought something helz said about being well researched on mafia theory was about mestari, but to me that justification seems even weirder than him just saying he made an assumption based on every one saying he is a vet or something.

Can we not do that? As of this post, not everyone even has/had checked in yet.

I mean I did ask every player to post full reads. I am not rushing the day phase to end by any means by demanding Thoth claim or be lynched. His lynch doesn’t need to happen immediately.

I mainly want to lynch Thoth. I went through the discord, my messages, both signup threads with Mestari in them - I saw no mention of him being a good or scary player. He must have gotten that info from somebody in a PM. Most people just mentioned his old username. It's really weird and sticks out as a genuine scumslip.

The difference is you are on now and have a chance to help your case and defend yourself and are actively not doing it for some reason. I just straight up woke up to being lynched for literally no good reason.

I would gladly claim my character right now, except that I know how these things work. You all say you just want a character claim and then you all have as much self-restraintnas an alcoholic in front of a beer keg. One things leads to another and soon I’m at L-1 lest I flip my entire hand up.
