MVP: Rex, was cooking hard the whole time, identified all scum, and pushed a boulder up a hill against stubborn people. Lots of other people did great as well in towns side besides the obvious hang ups with kohai and Wylted.

Thoughts:

Wasnt expecting this to end this way, figured whiteflames win in was much more challenging that it actually ended up being. Figured there would be a target over his head being a claimed doctor plus it would be semi obvious based on the “accepting being saved” thing that he was third party. It was also a soft cult as well meaning if Whiteflame failed to win, people would retain their original wincons and not be fucked over by being recruited. Anyways not a huge fan of third parties. I tried nerfing this one into the ground and it still ended up winning easily so I might have to go back to not using them in the future. Not to take away from Whiteflame who played a great third party game.

Welcome to my very offensive mafia game. I hope you all have thick skin. This game will be an open mechanical set up, meaning I will openly tell you all the mechanics of the game. There is however one catch: One of these mechanics, and only one, is a lie fed by the mafia team. All others are true. In Lieu of this, mafia were not provided fake claims.

The Game Mechanics are as follows:

1. There is 3 mafia, 1 third party, 8 town.
2. There is a Mafia Tailor.
3. There is no theme split.
4. All characters apply to the entire group of people in the race, gender, or organization it belongs to.
5. There is more than one vanilla in this set up.

I will not answer questions about any of these open mechanics due to the nature of the set up.

This game will be unapologetically offensive. So this was an old idea from DDO that I want to bring back but with a slight twist. The old version wasn’t just for mafia but the idea was you could basically send the person whose hosting the thread an anonymous message and they would post it in the thread but not post who the user who said it was. I want to recreate that idea but for the mafia community since it’s the only part of the site I frequent. Also the old one was pretty toxic so for this one I am asking for compliments about others players only, I will not post insults.

Mafia games can be pretty heated sometimes but at the end of the day I consider you all friends and I love playing with you guys.

Design:

A lot of my recent games have been on the swingier/ role heavy side and have been a bit chaotic, so I wanted to go back to my old style of game that was more vanilla heavy. There wasn't a lot of crazy power on the town outside of the cop and pies role, and even then I gave mafia ways to counter both. I also feel I didn't over power mafia either, I am hoping the balance was fine in this one. Obviously pies role I knew could make the game swing in either direction, at the end of the day it resulted in the town only getting two mislynches instead of there normal three, but I also didn't really expect mafia to catch onto Ted Lasso so fast, and if they had guessed wrong, or if shining was lynched first, pie could have been a major force for town here as basically a confirmed unkillable townie. So that was probably the swingiest thing about the game.

Thoughts:

I don't usually like to do MVP's they are a bit outdated, but if I was to give one, I would give it to mharman here. Dude played like an absolute champ. Not only did he accurately guess Ted Lasso dp1, his theme analysis was amazing, he guessed many of the town characters and power roles based off of the tiniest clues, and made excellent decisions for night kills. I forgot how good mharman can be at this game when he's locked in like he was here. It was really fun watching him work in the mafia thread. Everyone else did alright as well, I don't blame town for the mislynches either.

Also whiteflame the reason Roy Kent wasn't in the theme was because that was the fake claim I gave pie as a safe claim, since I figured he would probably need a solid one to play that role well.

The only thing that mafia maybe could have done different was use doctor as a fake claim, but mharman kind of picked up there was no doctor, and I think he chose the safe route with the vanillas which was probably smarter in the end, because it would have been suspicious if a doctor survived that late in the game with no successful protections, so the vanilla claim was probably the way to go. The role hint I gave them was that "there was more than one vanilla in this game".

Initially Rebecca is introduced as an antagonist with a plot to have Ted Lasso coach the team hoping he will fail miserably and destroy AFC Richmond’s reputation, which in her mind will hurt her Ex husband Rupert Mannion since she thinks the club is the “only thing he’s ever loved”. However Rebecca like everyone else ends up growing very fond of Lasso and eventually comes clean to Lasso at the urging of her good friend Keeley Jones. After this Rebecca becomes a wonderful and loveable character who garners sympathy from fans as she continues to get bullied by her ex husband any chance he can get. Eventually she comes into her own and becomes what her best friend “Sassy”s daughter refers to as a “Boss Ass Bitch”. Rebecca alongside Ted bring AFC Richmond to greater heights. Kohai- You are Trent Crimm! Trent is a hard hitting sports journalist working for “The Independent”. While Crimm has the reputation of being a bit of a prick, he also is a very good journalist and tends to be one of the first to get the inside scoop through reliable sources. You often find out major news before the rest of the sports journalists do. Therefore you are the Cop! Each night you may investigate a player to see if they are innocent or guilty. One player in this game is a hidden miller, meaning that player will not know or be told they are a miller and will appear guilty despite being innocent. You win with the town - Killed NP2

iLikePie5- You are Ted Lasso, also known as the “Marlboro man”, a joyous American hired by Rebecca Welton to be the coach of AFC Richmond. During the show you are quite unbreakable. You never let anyone get to you, even when the majority of the football community refers to you as a “wanker” and thinks you are an absolute joke. Despite this, you never let any criticism get to you and you literally reshape the entire Richmond team into a proper team of footballers, despite the team being relegated. You are betrayed by multiple people you respect, including your boss “Mrs. Welton” and “Nathan Shelley” your kit man raised into a coach. It is even later revealed that your best friend “Coach Beard” betrayed you at one point, and not only did you forgive him, but you give him the utmost respect and love. No matter how hard they try to break you down, you withstand and persevere. Because of this you are unkillable! You cannot be lynched or night killed. With one teensy tiny little exception. Mafia will have one chance to try and identify who Ted lasso is in this game. They can guess who you are at any point, but if they guess wrong once, they will never have the chance to kill you again. You will not be told when or if mafia guess, you will just immediately die. This can happen any time in the night phase or the day phase. If you are killed in the day phase, the day phase will continue on but you will instantly die. Because of this I will provide you with a strong character fake claim though it will be up to you to find a justification to fit with it. Your fake character is: [Redacted] You win with the town. Shining- You are Nathan Shelley! Nathan also known as “Nate the great”, or “wonder kid” was the original kit man for AFC Richmond. Nate has many self confidence issues, and is commonly bullied by the football players in the locker room. Later his character develops when Ted Lasso identifies Nate’s Genius and allows him to join the coaching team, realizing that Nathan knows a lot more about the sport than Ted himself does. Nate has an amazing character arc, however in season 2 slowly becomes corrupted with the new power and becomes one of the biggest douche bags in TV history. After an explosive confrontation with Ted, he does the unthinkable and tears up the team's beloved “Believe” sign, and proceeds to join West Ham United, which is owned by Rupert Mannion, AFC Richmond’s main rival. Because most of your beef with Richmond is targeted at Ted Lasso, your goal is to identify Ted Lasso. You have one chance to guess who Ted is in the game, if you are correct in your guess, the player who is Ted will die immediately and won’t count as a night kill. You can also guess during the day phase. Only you can make the decision however. If you die your partner cannot try and identify Lasso though they are certainly able to help you piece the puzzle together. You are also a 2x redirector, and can make a player visit someone they did not intend to visit. You win with the mafia. (Lynched DP1)

RexFavilla- You are Coach Willis Beard! Coach Beard is Ted Lasso’s best friend in the show, You are also extremely intelligent, cultured, and a little bit eccentric once people get to know you. You are reserved, however you are pretty significant for being very observant. You are Ted Lassos biggest supporter, and will always back him up and defend him. When it was later revealed that Ted Lasso loved you and forgave you years before for a betrayal, your complete and utter loyalty makes more sense to fans. Because of this you are the universal back up! You will inherit the role of the first player to be killed by the mafia. You win with the town. (Killed NP1)

The theme is Ted Lasso, a show on apple TV that I recently fell in love with. Its a heart warming comedy that probably has made me, a grown man, cry more than any other show or movie in history. I loved the show so much I binged all three seasons in 1 week. This game is going to be an open set up and mafia will not receive character claims, only one hint for a role claim. Endgame thoughts:

So this biggest shocker to most of you here will be that there actually wasn't a yakuza, whiteflame tailored casey to look like a yakuza, which was a brilliant move by the scum team which caused a lot of chaos and confusion this game. That said, while you could argue the yakuza was ultimately the reason for Ref's demise, I don't think it did much in the way of clearing either scum from the POE, more just kind of threw everyone else into it who might otherwise get town cred for roles and claims.

Mafia definitely played very well, and to be fair, town did not do horrible or anything. The thoth mislynch was very unfortunate and was a result of a miscommunication. I kind of knew he was going to get CC'ed when he claimed he was a xenomorph, and while technically a face hugger is part of the xenomorph species, the full grown xenomorph is already kind of known under that nomenclature. I think if he had seen some of the movies he would have known that was a risky thing to claim, even though he was technically correct. Town losing one of their main protective role's early was pretty tough.

The rex mislynch and logic behind it made sense given you thought there was a yakuza. I actually had that role as an everynight character cop, but decided to nerf it last minute because I thought it was too OP in combined with all of towns other power roles, so I made it even night to balance it out a little better. The character cop was meant to give town an edge though considering mafia weren't provided fake claims. Mafia ended up claiming their actual characters so it didn't effect them too negatively either way.

The theme split was "Creators VS Creations". Engineers created humanity, and David 8 Experimented on the Xenomorphs to create the Xeno's and facehuggers we know and are familiar with today. This is why other characters like Peter Weyland and Boy Cavalier were not in the game. Also as much as I wanted to, I couldn't put a ton of Alien Earth characters in the game yet, because there is still a lot of unknown details about certain characters and species as the show is not fully finished releasing.

My final thoughts on DP3, is that pie played it as well as he could have. I feel his frustration, he was making very good points. Mikal kind of gambled and went all in by buddying whiteflame, and at first I was a bit worried and wondered if he should have just bussed whiteflame, but I could see his strategy was kind of an all or nothing gambit to manipulate and bully kohai into voting pie, and to his credit it worked. Had whiteflame flipped tailor, it would have been pretty bad for scum and I don't think it would have taken town long to figure out there wasn't actually a yakuza. Which would have basically cleared pie who the main argument against him from everyone but mikal was that he wasn't the OG scum but a likely recruit candidate. It also would have cleared david, making scums only mislynch option going into LYLO castin, which would have been a tough sell. So while mikals play was risky, it was probably the play to make in the end.

Grats to pie for solving it, and I am sorry that it didn't work out, but mafia played hard and manipulated town against you well, so good games to all.

Because people on the crew ask mother questions, she will usually answer to the best of their ability. You are the Even Night character cop! Each even night you may ask me if a character exists in the game. I will tell you yes or no. If the character does exist in the game, you will be seen as visiting the player who it belongs to. Your goals were only to service the Weyland Corporation by making sure the Xenomorph on board made it back to earth at any cost, even over the crew's survival. Because Ash is secretly in communication with the Weyland-Yutani corporation and sends messages to them behind the crew's back, you are the informant. You can send a message to a player each night of your choosing, they will receive a random bit of set up information from the mod. You win with the town. (killed Np2)

Thoth: You are the Facehugger, from all the movie franchises and the T.V. Show, a parasitic creature that latches onto the faces of your victims and implants an embryo down its victims throat that will later burst from your victims chest and evolve into a fully fledged xenomorph. While you are on your victims face, they are generally incapacitated temporarily. A xenomorph will not attack someone who is impregnated by face hugger, buying the victim of this unfortunate event slightly more time than usual. You are the apportioner. If the player you target would normally die that night, their death will be extended to the following night instead. You win with the town.

Casey_Risk- You are Dr. Mason Wren, from "Alien: Resurrection". You are the head scientist onboard the Auriga. You are viewed as particularly immoral even among the scientists of United Military Systems. You take sadistic pleasure in your work. After 10 years, you succeeded in your goal of cloning Ellen Ripley, who would incubate a Xenomorph Queen. You used the newborn Queen to produce more Xenomorphs and betrayed everyone when they got loose. Though you didn't survive in the end, you are remembered for your efforts to convert fellow humans into fodder to recreate the Xenomorph species. You are thus the 1x Yakuza. On any night, you can choose to target a player and sacrifice yourself in order to convert that player to the mafia team. This can only be done in place of the mafia faction night kill. Welcome to Alien mafia! This game will follow all canon material of the Alien movies including Alien 1-3, resurrection, Prometheus, covenant, and alien earth. Alien vs predator is not technically canon and therefore not included. There is a theme split, it’s probably one of my more challenging theme splits though, it it gets figured out I will be pleasantly surprised. Mafia know the theme split but I have not given them fake claims since there is so many available characters across the many movies and shows included in this theme. As usual I won’t answer questions publicly and only about your own role or flipped roles, otherwise I won’t answer about hypothetical roles.
