You didn't want to lynch wylted in the last game for baiting magoroth out with his fake result. This lynch all liars has historically been used so inconsistently that is laughable its even still being used as a term.

I am actually wanting to pressure Rex. Rex hasn't really taken a lot of solid stances, and his joke at the end of the day phase "Never change guys" while funny, kind of rubbed me the wrong way that he was there and making fun of people's decision while not really contributing his own decision. I went back and read all his posts, he had a clear indication of wanting to push magoroth early, later said he would be down to lynch mago or thoth based on little contribution, and only fully voted thoth after the "CC" debacle. Then he doesn't post until EOD, where he makes the joke. IDK I am getting the vibes that he is around and aware of the game but going with the flow rather than trying to solve it. His vote was the scummiest on the thoth wagon imo, and the fact that he never stated an opinion change on it despite mharman changing his claim, or really commenting it at all makes is seem more scummy in hindsight.
Me taking a solid stance DP1 is pretty rare, I mostly just try to keep wagons going to generate activity, but last DP was kind of tough to do that. The strong scum read I got on Shining in Ted Lasso is not the norm for me DP1, usually I just wagon the least towny players from my pov. Last DP, that was Mago and Thoth. Friday night I was out, I basically popped into the thread on me phone before ten to see if anyone needed to be hammered. Saw what happened and was a bit flummoxed by it. I did not 'fully vote Thoth after the CC debacle', no idea where you got that idea. I was the first person on the wagon, and left for the city shortly after casting my vote, once Pie indicated he was not down for a Mago wagon. The CC thing happened hours later.

This is a bit suspicious to me. It reads like a scum player planning out an outrageous action and having an example from a past game in the holster to justify it.
I have no idea what that was and it also rubbed me the wrong way. If I had to guess, I suspect at least some of those people were just focused on getting a lynch at that point and there was such limited time to do it that they just went along with the flow. Doesn't explain why you, specifically.

Okay this argument sucks and it hammers home what Pie has been saying about WIFOM. If you expected to be widely townread for an action which also eliminated a power role that means you have a huge amount of incentive as scum to take that action.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Usually, certain players are lynch magnets DP1 and a lot of them aren't in this game. I feel like we're treading water a bit because of that. I especially want to see more posts from Magoroth. If I had to pick, it'd be there. He had a pretty rough last game and was a prolific poster, so if he rolled scum this time, I could see him being a bit reticent.

Are you talking about Luna’s game where we soft claimed the category? Cause I wasn’t in the same category as you. They guess mine purely based on luck. It was like a 20% chance I think with the knowledge that was present. The theme could be Zelda + Link vs everyone else for all we know. Gender claiming doesn’t do anything besides lock people in character claims. At worst scum have full fake claims and they just claim the gender of that, but if they’re the last to claim for some reason, they’ve eliminated half the pool. Also, some characters are clearly more likely in the game than others.
I double-checked, and I was misremembering. You actually lied about your fakeclaim in that game, you said you were in footballers but your actual character (Ted Lasso) was in coaches & staff with me. Pretty wild that Magic still managed to hit you, I was assuming the soft claim was why they successfully made the hit.

No, I soft claimed immediately. They had a specific target they had to hit with their ability, and you and I were the only ones who softed in the category to which he belonged. This narrowed their field of targets to two, making it 50/50; they took the shot and hit you correctly. If I had character claimed it would have simply given them a 100% chance to hit you by process of elimination. Given how often Ganon kidnaps Zelda and the games in which he possessed/mpersonated her (Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, TotK) I feel like revealing her character in particular might be bad. I strongly believe that she is town.

We could have not softed. Also, the OP mentions possible alignment-changing roles. In a game this small there has to be some kind of catch to make that balanced. Giving away info might cause issues, Kohai also was originally going to ban it discussing flavor which makes sense if that's the case. He also originally wanted more players, which is usually necessary in games with alignment shifts.
It caught Supa in one game that's older than this site. How many times did it help scum snipe power roles and important characters through POE? Judging by my character, I'm pretty sure Zelda and Link exist and would probably have power roles. If one of them dies and we do this soft scum have narrowed their POE to hunt the other down by half.
We should probably do some type of soft claim? Anyone have any ideas? Male/Female sounds reasonable but I’m open to suggestions

Personally, I find the calls to 'lynch' someone simply because he chose an eminent Jewish man of letters, globetrotter, and connoisseur as his avatar to be a bit unsettling and, frankly, in bad taste. VTL Thoth.
I think that the idea of lynching early depriving town of discussion has been taken too far and now we literally don't lynch until the last second.
Also, the game was actually very active - I believe it had more posts than any other on DCraft thusfar.
It was interesting to me how little theme was discussed. One of the reasons I settled on this theme was because at the time I was annoyed by the softclaiming meta. This theme to me seemed pretty impervious to softclaiming for multiple reasons, so I was glad to see that town agreed and was stumped by it. I think this led to theme as a whole falling to the wayside, with many people role claiming before character claiming.
I found Magoroth just as baffling as others did, but he's probably used to other site metas and is still adjusting to ours. The constant vote switching, the call more a mass claim DP1, and the legendary fixation on you, the claimed poison doc, even as he was literally dying of poison were all kind of baffling to me.
I thought Castin and Banana both played well. Banana held her own against Pie, which is no small feat. Thoth was oddly quiet. You were probably the best town player out there. Mikal actually baited the NK as the Empress Dowager intentionally to trigger the Beloved Princess aspect of the role, which I thought was a waste of a powerful role - but he was also busy in real life so I can't fault him for wanting out. There were a lot of instances where looking at a PM carefully could have resolved misunderstandings because it was literally spelled out - the difference between Wryly and Shining's passives, why Wylted was thematically Miller at high rank, why Magoroth's watcher was deactivated.
It was great to watch Pie and Whiteflame work together. You could clearly see the difference between them and town - they meticulously recorded facts and snippets of the game to piece together how various mechanics worked, independently tracked favor and the roles available to different players, constantly asked question which I answered. The rest of town was treading water - I think you were the only other person keeping extensive notes and you were recruited. Shining was good with his night actions and also played well as the Empress, even piecing together how the Shadow Poisoner worked very quickly. Supa had me cracking up a couple times with his commentary. I even made a meme for the scum chat when he mirrored the Qianlong Emperor's in-show lazy streak later in the game.
Lastly I mentioned this a bit in the mason PM, but I honestly really really don't understand you always make it 2 v 10 in 12 player games. I ranted and raved at you for this in your last game, it makes it such an uphill battle for mafia. Whiteflame and pie were literally about to quit if I didn't take the third party deal with them, even after making a choice to not out pie as scum. You need to do the mislynch math here in the future, because 3 scum works way better here, I even would put three scum in an 11 player game. This worked out for mafia literally only because I decided not to expose them, and because town was literally retarded.
This effectively was an 11 player game for calculating mislynches as one player could not vote. The issue with doing 3 scum would be that if the poisoner and conversion went off with three scum town would have literally had ONE mislynch before LYLO.

In both of these, town can be at LYLO in DP2.
I think WF and Pie were doing fine until DP3. The issue for them was that the internal town confirmations narrowed POE too much and made it very difficult to maneuver and pursue mislynches. Magoroth and Wryly confirming one another, Shining and Wylted confirming one another. They were only left with Banana (who was largely playing well) or an inactive slot as mislynch targets. I feel like without that town confirmation caging them in WF and Pie wouldn't have been nearly as stressed out at the end of those two DPs in a row.
Answers to some questions:
Mikal never used any of his 1x abilities. Wylted lost two favor because the Dowager Empress also has the ability to either increase or decrease any player's favor by 2 each NP. People seemed to all miss this in her flip in both DPs. That favor was not moved anywhere.
Shining and Wryly did have different roles. Shining's only revealed which actions targeted him in the night. Wryly's would have revealed the entire role card - basically role copping anyone who visited her. It was more powerful.
The Siren exists to give town some way to counter an absolutely schizo emperor. Without it, the powerful abilities which the Emperor had access to made the game waaaay too swingy.
