Just did an iso on Maggie and I really don't see it. If he's already done a super obvious soft what is the point of getting everyon on his wagon to force him to claim? Seems like a way to ramp up pressure at the end of the DP and then throw your hands in the air and secure a lynch because 'we're out of time and there's no better option'.

The point of DP1 is to generate lots of conversation then lynch someone. Chances are you're not going to hunt scum effectively with such a huge information asymmetry - the scum team will more often than not subtly move the lynch to a town target. So you try and create a DP1 that can be looked at in retrospect to analyze behavior. So I'd rather start a conversation about someone than just drive a hard lynch on them. And I'd rather have multiple lynch targets than just one. This creates more interactions to analyze during later DPs.

It's not surprising to anyone who remembers Iraq. To be fair, I don't think I've met many people in the real world who are gung-ho about it. Yeah, I committed seppuku dp1 because my claim was scummy as fuck and a liability if used incorrectly. I hate the site meta of getting multiple claims out dp1 as we shift from lynch target to lynch target, figured I'd just take the bullet. Tried to focus attention on Pie because I was 50/50 on him for scum/town. Figured if he was town scum might leave him alive if he was a juicy mislynch target. And if he were scum he would start on the back foot. Turns out they killed him anyway. As soon as I saw that flip I knew whiteflame was scum and said as much to Supa. Shining took me a bit longer but as soon as he stole my shitty claim it gave the game away. I find it kind of hilarious that you guys stole that one from me lol.
