Before I type anything on smoking, just keep in mind these arent healthy advice. this isnt good for health. Of course, someone who smokes doesnt anyway place own health as highest priority in life.
But in smoking, the ultimate goal is nicotine, getting most nicotine out of one cigarette.
If you get more nicotine out of one cigarette, you also need less cigarettes per day, and spend less money per same amount of nicotine.
So my rules are:
1. Always smoke cigarette till end
2. Focus on both many puffs and deep puffs
3. Keep smoke in lungs for some time, dont exhale immediatelly
4. Exhale through nose
5. Smoke 3 cigarettes per day, but smoke 2 of them one after another
I learned that exhaling through nose makes one cigarette really hit you harder. Like, the difference is huge.
With all the crap going on in the world, I learned to stop caring much about anything. Really, person who cares a lot only suffers a lot emotionally. I think a lot of people agree that caring gets you nowhere. Many things are simply not under your control immediately. Maybe you can affect world outcomes by prayer and magic and other reality altering techniques, but that isnt achieved by caring too much. the less you care, the more confidence you have, and more belief in own success.

Sleep induced psychosis
Long time ago I talked to some Christian who said that if you go to desert and fast with no food or water and no sleep, you begin to see demons. tho that is unecessary. Lack of sleep on its own is enough. Dehydration isnt necessary, nor is extreme heat or hunger. Extreme meditation helps, but in the end, its mainly lack of sleep which enables person to see supernatural.
There is a story in Bible where Jesus went to desert for 40 days, and saw Satan. Jesus was fasting. But he also probably didn't sleep. What Jesus saw was what anyone would saw if done the same.
Tho obviously, doing what Jesus did is risky. I don't recommend going to desert. But one can see these entities with mere lack of sleep.

I found this new concept of combining stoicism and machiavellism.
Stoicism is a lot about self control and detachment.
Machiavellism is about getting results.
But in many cases, self control and detachment bring results, hence the stoic Prince (combination of Machiavellism and stoicism).
The problem for Machiavelli is often miscalculation. If you place all focus on getting results as soon as possible, it is quite possible you rush and act too soon, and even ruin results.
The problem for stoicism is not enough focus on results.
The solution is a combination. You should focus on results, on achieving your goals, but you should also wait and be detached from those goals.
Stoic man simply doesn't care if he fails, and that is a big advantage which allows a more clear thinking. Machiavelli cares too much for success that it often seeks to get success as soon as possible.
Both are very strong goal oriented philosophies, which is why you need both. Stoicism teaches a lot of values which Machiavellism lacks. Machiavellism on its own appears more like some pure manipulator's calculation, while stoicism adds morality to the table, and adds more calm.
But both are correct in one thing: detachment is power.
Man who cannot truly fail in his goal is man who doesn't have a goal, or man who doesn't even care enough if he fails.
People are driven by love (their goals) and fear (negative things they want to avoid).
Stoic Prince should not be driven by love or fear in any real sense.
Fear nothing, love nothing, in any strong sense.
What you fear can be used to control you.
And what you love, can likewise be used to control you.

Right now, on debate craft, we have 2 systems for elo: Rated and ultrarated
Rated currently doesnt reward voting at all. It also doesnt reward quality effort. Someone who loses a debate will lose elo even if he put in a lot of effort in debate, he gets punished. And someone who placed a lot of effort to vote doesnt get any benefit in elo.
So, to put it simply:
Reward incentive for voting in "rated debates" is basically non-existent.
People who put in a lot of effort in debate, but lose, get punished and it becomes difficult to recover from loss.
there are no elo rewards for participation in a debate.
Ultrarated didnt solve the problem, because elo still only rewards wins in debate. Someone can cast many good votes in ultrarated, only to find it to be of no any elo gain, and losing debate places person lower on leaderboard irrelevant of quality of votes person gave or effort put in. System only rewards debate victory in elo, not quality of votes.
Current ultrarated was shown to be very slow, and rated was shown to make users quit the site, because once person starts losing elo, it becomes more difficult to recover it, and person feels punished for participating in a debate.
NEW Elo system - "Advnaced Elo Debate"
What I propose is not removing rated or ultrarated, or changing them. Just leave them intact for now.
What I propose is introducing a 3rd elo rating system, so when people choose "debate type", there is "advanced elo debate" among options.
What is advanced elo debate system?
It is a system designed to reward both quality and activity. Winner in debate would get most elo. But loser in debate would get elo as well. And people who vote on debate would get elo as well by voting.
Elo distribution looks like this:
Winner - 100% of Elo
Voter - 60% of elo
Loser - 40% of elo
So lets say that gained elo is 10.
Winner gets 10 elo.
Each voter gets 6 elo.
Loser gets 4 elo.
Why this system works? Because once people compete in it, debate leaderboard looks like this:
On top of leaderboard, you will naturally have people with most wins and most votes. So to be on top of leaderboard, you must not only win a lot, but also vote a lot, to be on top of leaderboard.
Behind them, there will be people who win a lot, but dont vote a lot.
Behind those, there will be people who lose a lot, but vote a lot.
Behind those, there will be people who lose a lot and dont vote a lot.
Behind those, will be people with very little activity.
Behind those, will be people with almost no activity.
this elo system creates a hierarchy where both activity and quality matters. And inactive debaters who are inactive voters end up on bottom of leaderboard eventually even if they are on top now, while active debaters and active voters who also win a lot and provide quality end up on top of leaderboard.
this elo system forces activity to keep elo ranking, while rewarding quality and activity the most.
this elo system also rewards voting. People have more reason to vote good vote on a debate because their own elo benefits from it.
this elo system rewards participation as well. People have more reason to participate more because their elo gets rewarded a bit by participating instead of being punished for participation.
this elo system is a proposed experiment. Similar elo systems exist on Modern day debate discord where more activity means you rank up more.
the proposition is to simply add a 3rd elo system. those who want ultrarated can still do ultrarated. those who want rated can still do rated. Nothing changes there. Elo in rated and ultrarated is unaffected. Users just get a 3rd option of elo system, "advanced elo", and in this elo system, people gain elo for all acceptable votes they cast on any debate in "advanced elo debate" type, and they also gain elo for participating in debate under "advanced elo debate" type, and they get elo for winning in such debate types, obviously.
this proposed system is merely a proposed experiment. If it works, we can expand it, so that other elo systems start rewarding votes as well, or that votes on any debate in rated, ultrarated or advanced elo debate, count towards "advanced elo" rating.
this elo system is simply designed to reward "winning and voting" more than anything else, but also to reward voting. We currently lack sufficient rewards for votes. A lot of debates wait too long for votes. A lot of debates end up without votes, and that works against site's activity. Quality votes currently dont carry any elo rewards, and elo rewards are only gained when winning a debate, not when casting a quality vote.
Our site needs plenty of voters as much as it needs debaters, for any elo system to work in the first place.
Its time to start rewarding voters for their votes, with rewards which matter.
Someone else suggested paying voters to vote, and that is a somewhat working idea, assuming owner can afford that. If we payed 1$ to people per vote, sure, we would suddenly get a lot of users on site who seek to earn money off this site. But that would be very difficult to afford long term, would cost thousands per month if userbase increases.

What most people fail to understand is that often the only reason they hate some people is because better people appear.
this is usually called "relative value" affected by comparison.
But the comparison actually only begins to show truth once you apply worst case standard for comparison.
to person who has many friends and plenty of options in life, such person naturally moves to best available options.

Person who has plenty of money usually chooses other people who have plenty of money, to be friends with, and can be picky about who to hang out with, and doesnt need to be kind to most people.
Person who is very poor, on the other hand, will happily be friends with anyone generous enough to provide help.
Standards are usually made by comparison.
there are things person would never accept under any circumstances. these are "worst case" standards. Anything above them is generally accepted depending on circumstances and available options.
And people often have wrong idea about what their "worst case standards" are. But best way to establish what they are is by experiencing lack.
Experiencing lack of all better options truly shows if some option is then acceptable or not.
Same with people. You might hate trump, but if he and you were last people on Earth, you would quickly become friends because alternative would be eternal loneliness.
People often experience severe drop in standards once they actually experience a complete lack. And people who have abundance usually experience rise in their standards.
this is why stoicism is about experiencing lack, to find out if things have value when no better options exist.
Because value is a very relative thing, and depends entirely on what is available in the first place. For example, I can set my standards very high, but if nothing in reality matches them, then my standards fail and leave me in complete lack of anything to satisfy them.
So standards naturally move as reality moves. Person who lacks food for a long time appreciates food more. Person who lacks water for a longer time appreciates water more. Person who is poor appreciates more any display of kindness. Person who has complete lack, appreciates almost anything to remove a lack.
Once you realize that the only reason you hate a lot of people is because better people exist, and if those better people didnt exist, you would actually stop hating the people you hate, you begin understanding stoic philosophy more.
Because value is found in lack. Sure, if I have million dollars, I wont appreciate at all someone giving me 10$ randomly, I might even feel insulted. But if I am on streets starving, no money for food, and someone gives me 10$, I begin to see that person as my savior. Exactly same action valued completely differently due to available options.

Now, here is what I dont understand.
Site has option to hide someones posts. So anyone who hates debby can just hide her posts so he doesnt see them anymore.
I am not saying banning debby was a mistake. Having each thread be ended with AI post at some point probably gets annoying to a lot of people.
Personally, I dont care that much about Debby's spam. Its easy to scroll past it.
And maybe new users will be more entertaining, but we know from experience that new users are mostly just temporary. Getting a permanent new user is difficult, irrelevant of how many permanent users you ban.
to me, it seems pointless to ban permanent users in an attempt to gain more of permanent users.
But once you start blaming some users for site's slow growth, you enter a slippery slope. Because if site's growth keeps being slow, then you must logically ban even more users because you start from assumption that current users are responsible for that.
And as Debate art showed, even when all users from it moved to new site, debate art didnt magically gain new permanent users.
Because to gain users, you must be a hot search. When someone types "debate site", if your site doesnt come up in first 3 results, you are not a hot search.
If someone types "good debating site", and your site doesnt come up, you are not a hot search.
Being a hot search is important, because thousands of people every day search for a good debate site, and they usually get dragged into few first search results.
Algorithm is simply everything. And algorithm favors sites which payed a lot to google to place them there.
So instead of trying to attract new users which might never come to stay permanently, a better strategy is to maintain current user base.
Not everyone is happy with Debby being banned. I can understand the arguments for her ban,
but question is, will her ban make current users more active?
Will her ban make new users come more?
We know from experience once debate art started with bans and punishments for users, it didnt increase its user base, but quite the opposite.
I am not saying no one should ever be banned, but to me, it seems like ban should only be used when its obvious that it must be used.
Because that is most reasonable approach. If you are focusing on imaginary probabilities, miscalculation easily happens. Bans should only happen when its most obvious undeniable harm to site. Anything other than that risks being a miscalculation.

After getting those 15 kg dumbbells, and about few weeks of lifting, I had an injury of hand where apparently my hand bones arent strong enough to do biceps curls with 15 KG. the injury forced me to stop working out for some time.
While my muscles can handle that weight, my wrists and my hand bones seem to struggle. I also had problem with doing push ups due to weak wrists which cant handle pressure well. It took me some time to reach 20 push ups and gradually strengthening wrists.
Anyway, I was thinking between getting creatine or protein powder, and there seems to be a clear winner.
Creatine is much cheaper. 500 grams of creatine can last up to 100 days, where 5 kg of protein can last 100 days, but 5 kg of protein is much more expensive than 500 grams of creatine.
When it comes to price, winner was obvious. I only need 5 grams of creatine per day, so 500 grams of creatine last over 100 days probably, and the price of creatine 500 grams is about 25$.
Also, creatine benefits the brain as well much more than protein does, which is one of reasons I chose to get it.
I actually ordered mass gainer before, but delivery got cancelled, apparently seller out of supplies. But mass gainer is basically mosty sugar, and I can simply buy sugar itself instead of buying mass gainer.
But creatine is definitely special. While I can get protein from eggs, creatine seems to be much more valuable resource, as valuable as sugar, and it is more difficult to get it from food when you are a vegetarian.
So yeah, right now I can do 45 repetitions with 10 kg dumbbell. I will see if, after creatine, that number significantly increases (creatine is supposed to give about 20% boost).

For years, I used to believe trans people should be encouraged to be trans, that it is good for them.
But now I am thinking that I was actually wrong, because we generally shouldn't encourage people to castrate themselves because that reduces birth rates.
Also, and this is important, male to female transition actually encourages feminized brains, which are brains less focused on logic and more focused on looks and approval of others.

I see a lot of people smoking cigarettes incorrectly.
they will smoke one right in the morning, then another one an hour later, and so on, they eventually end up smoking at least 5 to 10 cigarettes per day, if not much more. People who use vape are even worse.
I am of course someone who believes in opposites, presence and absence. So I know that when you are smoker, you must have a time in the day when you dont smoke at all.
this is why I use rule of half.
For example, when I wake up, I will wait until half of the day before I light a cigarette.
And when I light a cigarette, I dont smoke just one, but 2 or 3 one after another.
And for rest of day after that, I dont smoke.
So I only smoke 2 to 3 cigarettes per day.
And I get good dose of dopamine from it.
the reason I decided to become smoker is because I realized its almost irrelevant at this point. My parents ever since I was born smoked in same room where I was, making me effectively a second hand smoker for entire life, causing me many health problems.
So I realized, if I am going to inhale smoke anyway, and suffer health problems, might as well actually smoke so I at least get some benefits as well.

Most debaters on modern day debate are trolls.
they are not interested in debating, but in personal attacks. For example, instead of responding to argument, some will say "He is probably from India".
And some are even worse trolls who pretend to support something and then turn against it in middle of conversation, pretending to be "convinced" (I have seen same person do this multiple times on same topic in few days).
Because modern day debate is overrun by trolls and teenagers, one cannot really debate them in any way which is usually done in serious debates, because they are not interested in debate, but just personal attacks.
And when Ad Hominem becomes a debating standard on some site, one must use different methods to counter it.
the best possible method is Machiavelli delayed response rule.
Simply, you:
One, make your argument
two, they respond with Ad hominem
three, you delay response.
Simply dont respond immediately. Let them wait for you to respond, or let them throw more Ad hominems while you say nothing.
the minimum waiting time to respond is usually 7 seconds after they are fully done responding, but a better way is to wait few minutes before giving another argument.
In fact, the ideal way is to just post argument, and when you see them responding with ad hominem, just dont respond at all, close app, and then open it again after five minutes, and post another argument while completely ignoring their personal attacks.
And doing this repeately exhausts them. Because if you post one argument every 5 minutes, and they respond with bunch of personal attacks each time, you are essentially forcing them to write much more than you do.
Because to each argument, they are forced to respond with 3 or more ad hominem replies.
Machiavelli way is simply, dont argue, make a claim, wait for them to respond, then delay your response for minutes before making another claim.

I usually considered solar energy to be crap because cost of solar panel, battery, and inverter is very high, would literally take decades to pay off, and by that time, I would already have to replace them.
However, I find solar light to be different.
those led lights with built in small solar panel have become very cheap, like if you buy in set, you can get them for under 10$ a piece.
And usually, the trick is to buy at least 3 or 4 of them, so that all can charge during day, and during night, you can turn on one, and when it runs out of battery, then turn on another...ect.

Wars are far from free.
Iran has done attacks on oil transport and oil production in the region, as a response to US aggression.
Iran knows it cant defeat USA in a military sense, but also cannot be defeated by it in any short time.
But economically, Iran can defeat USA.
By choking US economy, attacking its main energy source: Oil, Iran is causing trillions of dollars of damage to USA.
First, the mere military costs are already 1 billion per day.
But with rise in price of oil, economical costs skyrocket into trillions.
Because USA pays 800 billion dollars a year for oil, weekly inflation of 30% means weekly cost of around 7 billion dollars based on oil alone, assuming price doesnt keep rising.
But when oil price rises, all other prices tend to follow.
While oil itself would by current inflation cost about 400 billions per year, and military costs additional 400 billion per year, when we account for inflation of all other items, and further inflation of oil, we get result that this war, if it lasts only for a year, will cost USA trillions of dollars.
So yes, enjoy paying trillions for another unnecessary war. It took you years to defeat Iraq, and decades to defeat Afghanistan and still failed. But Iran is a bigger fish than both of these together.

My interest in women isnt based on logic.
If we consider things logically, all interests are arbitrary.
But women are only wanted for their looks.
I dont want women for their intelligence, because I dont consider women to be smart. If I aimed for intelligence, I would be more likely to date men.
I dont want women for their money, because most women arent even rich.
I dont want women for their personality, because most women have boring repetitive personality.
I dont want women for their sense of humor, because most women dont actually have sense of humor.
I dont want women for conversations, because most women arent even good at conversation and each conversation is basically just gish gallop of emotions and nonsense talk.
So outside of looks, women dont have any qualities which I would want them for.
If I was attracted to personality, conversation and a sense of humor, I would more likely be gay because men have better sense of humor and better personality than women, and usually hold conversations better.
Each desirable quality exists in men much more than in women, other than looks.
Now, some might say ability to produce offspring, but I am not interested in reproducing in a world where my line of offsprings is basically guaranteed to suffer at some point, because there is no family tree which doesnt contain great suffering of some individuals.
So the only thing left is looks. Women are wanted just for looks, nothing else.

this isnt AI, its just chatbot using pdf book as knowledge base, using vector based retrievers and word level tokenizer.
It chats with any book and quotes exactly from book.

Well, the law still isnt even in effect, but it is just being considered.
the reason why such law is important is because these types of punishments still happen a lot to children, especially in religious institutions and private homes.
Bosnia went from having corporal punishments in schools just 20 years ago, to some time later making law against corporal punishments in schools, but not in religious institutions or private homes.
this new law I assume also includes private homes, because if not, its a pointless law which becomes one of those "place dependent laws" (in same country illegal in one place, but legal in another place in a country).

I never quite understood why people love censorship.
Almost every country in the world has a lot of censorship, and the reason why they do censorship is, by their own words: they are losers.
In my whole life, I never understood why someone's speech should be censored.
In fact, I am always interested in everyone's speech, because I am not afraid of anyone's opinion, nor seek censorship of any opinion because I need a different opinion to talk to in order to talk at all.
If everyone had same opinion as me, world would be a peaceful but terribly boring place.
It is different opinion which produces that excitement which mere agreement can never produce.
So agreement is boring, mostly.
But why people prefer censorship, is because they are liars or losers.
Liars, because if obvious truth was on their side, they wouldnt be afraid of then obvious lies.
Losers, because the reason they do censorship is because they would be losers if they didnt do it.
By merely doing a censorship, person admits to being a loser who without censorship would be even a bigger loser.
For example, if I did a censorship of someone, I would be admitting that not censoring that person would make me a bigger loser, so doing censorship makes me a smaller loser instead.
Censorship is a tool of losers and liars, not of competent people.
And censorship makes the one who do it dumber.
In order to grow intellectually, you logically need a different opinion to update your own. But when you censor a different opinion, you only leave both sides dumber and less informed, because neither side then engages with a different opinion on any good level.
