does scum kohai whose voting himself bother keeping up the drunk schtick?

Yes? Otherwise he would have to admit that he lied from the start for no apparent reason.

Will be hard to do now that we have a bead on Kohai -- he's already indicating it confirms the Kohai-Thoth connection. Probably won't let it go.

Ah yes, the completely incriminating connection that I DM'd Luna to point out how Pie would have modkilled Mikal for something that Pie would have modkilled Mikal for. I'm as good as convicted.

Passing thought: If Kohai's role forces him to talk like a drunk Russian, presumably under penalty of modkill, what is Lunatic's standard for how drunk and how Russian he sounds? What exactly would count as a violation? Just Lunatic's subjective preference? It seems hard to define precisely.

"Bro, kohai and thoth are begging me to mod kill you. Its retarded as fuck. Pie does it one game and now this shit starts happening"

I'm sure I would get modkilled if I showed you our chats, but I never begged Lunatic to modkill you. I just joked about how Pie would have done so. Luna must have misunderstood.

This game will be an open mechanical set up, meaning I will openly tell you all the mechanics of the game. There is however one catch: One of these mechanics, and only one, is a lie fed by the mafia team

It doesn't say that the scum team chose them from a list. The wording makes it sound like the scum team could have, and likely did, write the fake mechanic themselves. I'm not sure yet who first said that the Mafia team picked it from a list, but Helz suggested so in #396.

I'm not caught up yet, but something I noticed while reading: who first suggested that the scum team picked the fake mechanic from a list? The OP doesn't say that. Sounds like a scumslip to me.

We can move on from the 5 facts list, though I would still like Casey and Helz to chime in whenever they get on. As a matter of general policy though, I think we should make an informal rule that the least active person 2 days into the game should be forced to claim if there are no claims out yet

+1

I feel like this discussion about making the real game mechanic stand up has distracted us from playing the game, though. It's probably best that we revisit this topic once we have flips.

The wording “Mafia Tailor” strikes me as odd. Why would any other alignment have a Tailor? Something about that wording stands out to me as being in Lunatic’s pen.

And my point is that there are an absurd number of possible splits and ways to split characters with this theme. That’s my point: the presence of a theme split doesn’t put a lot of pressure on scum because it would almost certainly be difficult to parse out anyway.

I won’t disagree in the absence of flips. I thought you were saying that it would be hard to even imagine what a theme split could be.

Option #4 limits the possible claims to one of those 3 areas. If it just laying out the actual theme split, then why would scum post #3 at all?

I was just saying that this is a plausible example of a theme split, not the actual theme split.

I don't know about anyone else, but a theme split for stereotypes seems a lot more subjective and much harder to nail down even if it exists.

Option #4 gives a plausible theme split of race/gender/organization. Or it could be race/sexuality or any other split between types of groups.

I think kohai has a genuine role that makes him speak in a certain way. Wf has never faked something like that in 10 years of playing with him so just makes me wonder if there was motivation behind it

Maybe whiteflame just thought it was funny that he is Jewish irl and got Jews as his role?
