Because claiming Day Vig would have given away my role and, as I’ve already said, there is apparently another role in this came that can be actively used to stop my shot. Whether town or scum has it, that tells me there’s at least one other day action. Up to you whether you believe that.

My aim was to align myself with town, and the response I got was “you’re the lynch this DP regardless.” Going through all the effort to get a claim, presumably townlocking Mharman, and shifting to a different target would have still resulted in my lynch, 100%. I was told repeatedly I was dead regardless. So here we are.
Tell me, honestly: do you or anyone else refuse to lynch me after that? I’d frankly be shocked if anyone changed their minds lynching me regardless of what happened, so best case scenario for me, town gets a leg up next DP and I’m still dead after multiple hours of arguing that we should wait on the opinions of others. I offered, repeatedly, to follow town’s scumreads and make a decision on that basis. I was told many times that it didn’t matter what I did and I was the lynch regardless. If it’s selfish to look at any choice I made as a losing proposition, then this was me being selfish.

I was actually interested in playing this role, figured I could have some fun with it if I was able to align myself with town by killing a scumread target this DP. Don't suspect it will play out that way, but tbf, I'd probably be hesitant to trust a claimed TP Survivor even if they did kill a scum target. Don't think I was ever getting out of claiming, though, and even my fake claim was auto-scumread.
