would u be open to voting for rex? if u are town, we can use it to confirm him. theres some possibility he is lying, and if u are actually town, he is likely scum based on shining.
if u r town u can still help us participate and even vote, so not a lot of drawback other than losing ur protection, but if your lynched that will happen anyway. i dont see a lot to get u out of being lynched. plus u think ur gonna die tonight anyway. i think makes the most sense for u to test rex.
Fine, I'll vote him if that's the only means I have left to benefit town anyway.
VTL Rex
Just a heads up, this has been a really shitty morning for several reasons and I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of today on the phone trying to sort things out. That will affect my availability, so if I end up being lynched (either by this mechanic if it's real or by everyone else), I guess I'll be chiming in next DP to pick up the pieces.

With the results so far, the likelihood of WF being the Demon is very high. He’s 100% the optimal lynch. The fact he claimed and hasn’t been CCed yet, means that he is the Demon and has the fake claim.
theres a good chance hes evil, but im thinking hes gonna be minion. kind of seems bastard to put demon next to the empath npo when it could just end the game fast. but its possible. chacnes are they have a spy and are in a chat already and thats why he has that role. if wf flips scum we should look heavily at the chats made before he made that claim
It's been mentioned a couple of times, but you won't see my flip. There are roles that can investigate the dead, but unless I'm literally the Demon, you wouldn't know my flip otherwise.

apparently i misunderstand my role and results. my results mean that the two evils are next to each other on the list. but theres a demon and two minions still.
Alright, that's how I thought it worked, that makes more sense based on how your role is worded.

Love how you're the one who said I should publicly claim after I told you what I was and this is where you take it. If I haven't been CC'd yet, then that suggests there's also no other protective role in play, like Soldier. I'm unclear on what balance looks like for one of these games, but the lack of a protective role at all doesn't make a lot of sense balance-wise considering how much investigative manipulation is likely in play.
As for me being the Demon, want to explain that one? Seems like a shot in the dark.

I'm the Monk.
not sure if that means much in the way of confrming u if scum have a spy, a role that can tell all roles in the game and who owns them. but ill hear other ppls thots on this, we still have 2 kind of damning results on u. for u to be town here, rex has to be scum, shining has to be poisoned, or awesome had to be poisoned, both cant. one could be drunk ig but its a lot basically needed to sell a case for town here. some of the roles had to have been left off the list so im assuming mafia have a decent good ones to choose from for fakes. anyways not much else really to say about that ig
Like I said, I get the reasons for sussing me. Both poisoning and drunkenness can manipulate results and Awesome's role specifically can be manipulated by this Red Herring, which is assigned randomly, and would trigger the same result if it was applied to either Pie or me.
That being said, as far as I'm concerned, my claiming the role will probably end with me being killed NP1. It's pretty clear why if you look at it.

Looks like there's another red check on me, so I'm good with claiming, I'm just asking in my chats if they'd like to hear it first. I'm in chats with Wylted, Pie and Kohai atm, so I'll leave it to them to decide.
do u have any reason to trust them over anyone else? they all started the pm with u, just curious why u would give them info before the whole of town. if any are scum just handing them an advntge to prepare
I've got an order in which I'm doing it. I haven't told any of them yet, but I can divulge the order based on what I've seen so far. I don't see any role that can utilize this information in the middle of the DP, so I don't see how they could prepare better from knowing it a little earlier.

so im not familiar with this game. i have information tho and i dont see any reason not to tell it. im a chef, and i was told there is only one pair of evil players. i dont think there is any more utility to my role here so i dont see saying this publicly as a big risk
OK, looking at the role:
Chef | On Night 0, you learn how many adjacent pairs of Evil players there are. A player is part of two pairs, so, for example, if three Evil players are adjacent, this counts as two pairs.
I'm still puzzling over what that means. So does that mean that the Evil players are adjacent to one another, or am I missing something? While we're at it, could this pair include a Recluse?
This, fwiw.
oh didnt see that. i assumed it just meant there was only one scum faction. now that i am re reading the role im wondering if "one pair of evil players" just means two scum, one minion, one demon. for some reason i was assuming there was 1 demon and 2 minions based on the wording of the op
Now that I'm looking at it, Thoth responded to me regarding Shining's result, not yours. He was clear, however, that a theoretical Recluse could be in both of your results. Since no one has claimed it yet, though, that's not something I'm strongly considering.

i am openly suspicious of people who opened chats btw. we know demons and minions have to get in one. pie opening up one with every player is a good way to look like hes doing something townie by opening up all lines of investigation, while also covering for him to open up one with his minion partner and not being asked why.
if its pie tho then wf would be cleared if awesomes results werent poisoned. something to chew on
Yeah, I had a similar thought. I can't help but wonder if scum would hold on forming those chats for this very reason, though. It was pretty strongly telegraphed that forming those chats would put anyone who did under the microscope. Might not stop some players from doing it, but those would be bigger risk-takers and people who didn't read the OP too closely.

so if shinings info is correct, one of rex and whiteflame is scum. i was waiting for clarfiction from shining but hes not responding so i asked the mod, and he said adjact on the player list does mean "next" to you on the player list and he added that first and last slots also count as adjacent. so that means either what mag said is true, and the host decided to mess with shinings results pre game (i explained why i dont think that makes sense. the host sounds like he interferes with results only based on whose winning and losing).
or it means one of rex and wf are scum. rex seems to be claiming virgin.
so im going to sus wf here.
VTL wf
I can understand the logic here to an extent, but given what we know about Poisoning and Drunkenness and assuming that both yours and Shining's roles exist in the game, I don't get why you'd assume they aren't capable of being messed with. Especially with Drunkenness, Drunk is a prescribed role, and a modifier Thoth explicitly said was up to his discretion in the OP. I don't get why that implies later impacts, particularly with two investigative results available this DP.
As for claiming the Virgin, if that's what Rex is doing, then setting aside the question of why he hasn't just outed himself already, there's not a good way to test it without risking a Town auto-lynch. If someone does test it and survives, then he's either lying or that person is scum... or an Outsider I guess. I'm a little unclear on this, since it seems like the explanation for Virgin restricts the effect solely to Townsfolk.
Also, I'd like an answer to my earlier questions if you get a chance.
Now, I've been up since 3 AM and my head is spinning, so I'm calling it here. We've got 4 days for this DP, and 3 people who haven't posted at all.

There’s gonna be a lot of signalling or faking scum/town reads as an excuse to get a group chat with a player lol
i was just about to say this. asked thoth and he said they dont start in a pm together. the demon knows the minions, the minions know the demon, the minions do not know each other tho. it would be beneficial for them to be in a pm together. so we might need to look at ppl trying to create chats for weird reasons.
I particularly agree with that last sentiment. We should all be careful to consider why each chat is made.

Apparently drunkenness is permanent and I imagine chosen by the host on night -1, there’s some shit like “you won’t know what role they thought they were if they were drunk”, which has to be night -1
Poisoning is a night ability, I don’t think it has to be any one of us tho it could be anyone in the game.
I'm unclear on when these would have been applied, but since it seems there are a lot of roles that triggered before the start of the DP, I wouldn't be surprised if modifiers were active then as well.

Okay, please stop claiming. I think there’s a perfect way of gaming this setup.
We ALL start chats with whoever we are sure is Town, only two people per chat (three including Thoth, I guess). Then everyone claims their role privately to that person.
We don’t need scum knowing what roles are in the game. If necessary we can pressure people by forcing them to publicly claim
Whenever we reach the point that we have solid townreads, I can see how this would work well.

The Storyteller may choose to give Drunk or Poisoned players true information. The Storyteller will not tell players when they are Drunk or Poisoned, and will go through the motions as though their abilities were functioning normally. Note that, in this script, Drunkenness lasts for the entire game, whereas Poisoning only lasts for a night and the following day. If a player uses a once-per-game ability while Poisoned, they may not use that ability again."
I think it’s borderline OP to have both Banana and Shining’s roles in the game. One of them is probably drunk I’d say. Or lying
Wouldn't be surprised if at least one player has the hidden Drunk modifier at least. Might be a Poisoning in the mix, but regardless, I think we should assume at least one player has had or will have their results manipulated.

Alright, there's a lot of WIFOM analysis when it comes to who would be more likely to take the bullet vs. Casey and if I'm being honest, I'm not sure I buy either one all that well. Casey was just gone for a lot of the DP, so it's a fair chance that whoever was their partner had incentive to eliminate them just because they might not be active at all this DP. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Casey asked to be killed, though probably not until after DP1 ended or at least later into the DP. I'm going to re-read a bit, then make a decision. And no, this one isn't coming with a mile long explanation. It'll just be a vote.

I'd say both have small points in their favor and against, though if I had to pick now, Mag1c does seem like a more likely pairing with Casey than Thoth. That in part comes down to Thoth having more to say about Casey last DP, but it's also down to what we know from the two town-confirmed players who have been eliminated.
Casey really didn’t say much last DP. All I noticed was the friendliness in trying to greet people, which kinda looking like trying to get townread based on vibes to me.
I mean, I agree there wasn't much to say about Casey, I'm not arguing that you should've written a ton. And I recognize that you've been absent, so you just generally would have less to say, not that Thoth said a lot. That doesn't mean I'm going to ignore the limited thoughts on Casey, it just means I'm hesitant to put much weight on them. It's why I still haven't voted.
