Gonna go on a limb here and say 5 is unlikely to be a lie. Most games here don’t have more than one Vanilla and I feel like scum wouldn’t make up a lie that is not likely to be believed.

1 could possibly be a lie. it’s rather hard to verify because it would require flipping everyone in the game if the third party doesn’t exist. would be a decent lie for scum to come up with.

2 I think from what Lunatic told me, he doesn’t really do games with paranoia (?), so this could be a lie. very probable one IMO. I don’t think Lunatic would give scum the ability to lie to us AND a Tailor. It feels too scum sided.

3 seems like a very egregious lie, which again I don’t think the scum would feed us. It’s just too on the nose.

4 I don’t understand what this means

I have a feeling there’s a trap in those mechanics Lunatic posted. Feels like it would be really easy to figure out which of those is a lie and would in fact give a lot of information on the game, which I assume Lunatic wouldn’t want.

All of those have edge cases where it might not be true yet it appears at a glance that it is (or vice versa).

Just dumping one of my setups here. Feel free to host this if yo want to. I may host it in the future.

Nearly all roles with only like two-three exceptions can be of any alignment, so mass claim isn’t a feasible strategy here.

Mechanics

Days last 72 hours, nights last 24.

Plurality with majority - the player with the most votes by EoD will be lynched. Hammering is enabled and requires more than 50% of total votes.

Ties are resolved by RNG.

The day may be skipped with no lynch by voting for “skip day”.

Last wills allowed. A last will is a message that is displayed upon death if you don’t get sanitised by a Janitor. Used for reads, PR night actions, etc.

Suicide not allowed.

The Scum are allowed to use both their factional kill as well as their role's ability.

Win Conditions

Eliminate the opposite team.

Magoroth

-- Cycle the following night actions until resolved: --

1. Redirector controls someone/

2. Bus Driver busses

3. Coward/Hider hides

4. Roleblocker role blocks

-- end cycle --

I will cycle the night actions involving these roles a random number of times from 2 to 4.

If there are any cycles, I will run the odds of which night actions are likely to occur (as in, which swap/bus drive), and then randomly select which action goes through.

Example:

{A = Bus Driver, B = Escort, C = Mafia}

A: Bus A/C

B: Roleblock C

C: Attack A

I RNG and find out I should run the night actions twice.

The current night action are:

A => {A}

=> {C}

B: => {C} (role block)

C: => {A}

First, the bussing happens:

A => {A}

=> {C}

B => {A}

C => {}

Then, the roleblocking is done:

A /=> {A}

/=> {C}

B => {A}

C => {C}

The bussing tries to run again and fails, as the Roleblocker is targeting the Bus Driver after the first cycle:

B => {A}

C => {C}

then the roleblocking again

B => {A}

C => {C}

there are no loops, the night actions are resolvable, so it ends with the escort roleblocking the Bus Driver, and the Mafia killing itself.

Purely probabilistically, ignoring information, assuming a random Lynch every day, assuming there’s no CC:

Scenario 1:

60% chance of lynching town D1 -> 50% chance of lynching town d2 -> 30% chance scum wins by D2

Scenario 2a/b

4 v 2 -> 3 v 1 -> 2 v1 ->

60% chance of lynching town D1 -> 50% chance of lynching scum d2 -> 66% chance of lynching Town D3 (2v1) -> 10% chance scum wins D4, 10% chance Town wins D4

Scenario 3:

60% chance of lynching Town D1 -> 50% chance of lynching scum d2 -> 33% chance of lynching Scum 3 -> 10% chance

Scenario 4:

4v1 -> 4v0

40% chance of lynching Scum D1 -> 25% chance of lynching scum D2 -> 10% Town

Scenario 5:

4v1 -> 3v1 -> 2v1 -> 1v1

40% -> 75% -> 66% -> 50% = 4/10 * 3/4 * 2/3 * 1/2 = 10% Scum

Scenario 6:

4 v 1 -> 3v1 -> 3v0

...

Too many to list. I don’t think there are that many but I don’t wanna continue. From a purely random Lynch perspective (which doesn’t exist), I think the setup is balanced. I’ll think about this tomorrow.

Lazy Sheriff reveals. Scum CC's or does not

If they CC they go 1v1 50% RNG followed by loosing a player the next night (if they win.) Bad gamble to take. Everything goes right they enter a 3v1 D3. If its wrong its a 4v1 D2

If they do not CC town plays follow the sheriff. He picks 1 townie to keep alive and they eliminate in order of scummy with a 60% RNG chance and days of information to conclude who the finalist will be.

I do not think scum has a chance in this one tbh.

Maybe scum should win a 2v1?

A quick, easy, simple nightless Mafia game

Town -

1 Lazy Sheriff

3 Lazy Citizen

Mafia -

1 Lazy Mafioso

1 Lazy Godfather

No roles have night abilities or abilities of any kind.

Mafia has a private daychat.

On D1, due to a lazy bureaucracy, only 3 votes are required for a majority.

Lynch is mandatory every single day.

Days last 48 hours or until a lynch is achieved.

Win condition: Town must lynch the Mafia, Mafia has to achieve vote parity.

I didn't whine that I mislynched. I dont think we mislynched. Im still waiting on the flip.

I still don’t understand WTF there is to debate. Pie literally posts alignment at the end of the day. There’s “nothing” to “think”, there’s 0 reason for me to lie. I’d get outed literally at the start of the night. Why keep pretending? Makes 0 sense

Magoroth

Can you explain in what way you having a confirmed or near confirmed Town at, say, MyLo, assuming I lived that long, is worse than getting “information” from lynching said confirmed Town?

It also doesn’t help that this take isn’t really game related. Pretty scummy to talk about tactics and strategy ngl

Magoroth

It’s so retarded only Mafia players could come up with it.

Is it a good idea to look for info in case someone flips Town. Yes.

Is it a good idea to pick between flips that you aren’t sure of and default to the one with the highest information. yes

Does it mean you should Lynch Town because you’ll get “INFORMATION” out of it? What information do you get out of most Town flips that didn’t exist before the flip?

But yeah Rex saying he’s confident I’m Town and then hammering me anyway at the end of the day is at best horrible play. At worst it’s scummy as fuck. If there are Cops or whatever check Rex tonight, thanks.

I've done this multiple times. I would literally lynch confirmed town if they were the only viable target. No lynching DP1 is retarded, and I will never sanction it. It starves town of information because it creates a norm where scum can noncommittally support wagons and then just let them fizzle out and renders post hoc analysis completely pointless. You NEED to follow through and lynch someone.

How does lynching a Town, a 100% minus to your win condition, get balanced out by fictitious information, which 99% of the time people don’t even know how to interpret it anyways?

If this is the case then Mag1c is likely Town. Not a super strong read because I think it’s possible to fake what he said w.r.t “the scum team isn’t here”.

Also and you can take this to be 99% true, there is at most 1 scum in Bullish and Mag1c. No way they’re both scum. Please take this advice because I have reasons for believing this but I don’t have time to go into detail

I appreciate the last minute thoughts. I agree, I don't think it's possible they're scum together, though I'm hesitant to say one of them is absolutely scum.

I don’t think one is necessarily scum BUT if there is scum there, I just cannot see both of them being scum.

Magoroth

Last but not least. My role card does not really mention other chemical elements. With a role like Caesium, which is so reactive it has to be stored in mineral oil or it reacts with EVERYTHING, I’d expect it possible that other elements get mentioned. I could also see this for Calcium but less so. It’s possible all claims ae just kinda generic and don’t mention other elements
