Well combined with being on the mikal lynch you unfortunately are also implicated by dreamer results. It's probably a good time to claim, especially considering other power roles have been ousted, if you aren't scum mafia have POE narrowed at this point to know you are a threat anyway, so not claiming really only hurts town at this point even if you are a power role.

no because technically there could be two scum on my results. While that is generally unlikely, I can see pie doing it here because I literally just called out it being unlikely in the last game.

I agree Mikal was a bad lynch but out of everyone on that lynch mharman had the most reason to sus him and had been consistent with his read since earlier. I think it’s fair to say that if anyone was legit on that Mikal push it was him. Still he could have manufactured it, I am not giving him a free pass but yeah his participation is less scummy than others at least I’ll say.

Thoth looks the best out of this trio for not being on the Mikal wagon I will say.

I buy you as town for now, your role makes sense with some of the other roles claimed so far and is also a could counter measure to my role. Sucks Mikal was lynched because his role also made sense with mine so I figured he was town. Oh well I was asleep when that happened and was unable to prevent it. I also buy your logic for visiting Whiteflame and I was slightly sus of him too, but I don’t think you’d admit to visiting him as scum when he was killed the night before.

Hello all. Full claim time. I am morgarath, I am the dreamer. Justification is about how it is my dream to rule the kingdom and how he pursues this dream even after taking a defeat by regrouping in the mountains of rain and night. Yes my character appears to be a villain, so the theme split is obviously not good vs bad.

anyways thankfully I wasn’t visited last night and I have results.

one of Thoth, Casey, and wryly is scum. The way my role is phrased says “out of which at least one is scum” which means there could potentially be more than one scum in the results. Last game I mentioned most mods probably aren’t inclined to put both scum on a dreamer result, but considering the fact that I literally just said that last game and pie was apart of that one, I figure that is less likely this time around. That said my focus will be on lynching one of the three names in my results this day phase.

My second gut read is thoth, keeping in mind his whole tactic of "Look guys made a brilliant claim once, so I am not a noob", he is posting quite a bit like last time, but also kind of not really saying anything majorly impactful. That applies to alot of players here including myself, but combined with the earlier sentiment of wanting people to appreciate his scum play, it almost appears bragadocious in comparison to his behavior. I am not majorly suspicious of him at the moment, just kind of questioning his motives.

?? Is there some bizarre rule where you can only townread someone based on their reaction to a reaction test? Wouldn't that make reaction tests completely useless?

I found it odd that Magic is dissecting everything in this game in minute detail and is trying to start discussions with random number tests but didn't speculate at all when I hard scum-read him out of the blue. Isn't responding to that a better opportunity to start engagement/activity ex nihilo than wondering why someone picked a random number?

This type of post reminds me a bit of Rex's scum play in terraria, this kind of logical "baffled by your logic" reactionary defense whilst not really saying anything. The double down on magic is also interesting.

Like I said, my big thing here is that I don't think the claim matches the behavior.

I think if he's ballsy enough to claim for early cred off the rip, he's ballsy enough to either straightclaim his real character and leave the questions for a teammate, or to use some questions. The latter does feel less likely.

Interesting take, I feel like taking the fake claim is "less ballsy" of a move and more of a safe move, which is the premise for me thinking that its more than likely legit. I think taking a safe claim from the mod is a pretty easy route, and mikal as scum would opt to give that route to a team mate.

Actually. He would have had to ask about this pretty fast and pretty early. Again not impossible but it helps his case for sure.

I’ve been pondering Mikal’s claim for a bit.

Mikal’s claim has a great justification, but hider in a 9-player setup is wild. And if I were hider I’d be baiting the night kill. The whole “claim is scummy sounding” problem can be solved by just pointing to behavior that indicates you were baiting the NK. I don’t like it.

I don’t think scum Mikal would just try and nail a major protagonist off the rip, but then I have to theorize a scum role for his character. Like I said, I’ll admit the justification for compulsive hider matches really well. Maybe something to do with her ability to negotiate with others? Some in-world politics thing.

There's some decent points here, I wouldn't dismiss mikal being scum entirely, but I don't think claiming off the RIP is his scum MO, unless it was mod provided fake claim, then I can see him doing it. And even then I feel like he would save that for his partner unless his partner had a claim that was good itself, or was more familiar with the theme. I wouldn't dismiss these possibilities either, but I also think mikal is usually confident and comfortable enough as scum to bide his time and wait for more claims to come out so he can put something more tangible together. So that is why I am leaning town on the claim atm, but if I do suspect him later then my theory would be that this was a mod provided fake claim.

In reference to Luna's claim that he thought this was LOTR because of his character's name, did a dive into the wiki looking for names that sound Tolkienish, but not much pops out.

Morgarath sounds a bit like Morgoth, and Thorn Hammerhand is vaguely akin to Thorin Oakenshield (although that was the Hobbit). Samdash/Samwise maybe.

I was laughing hard on day 2 when Lunatic said that once-per-game bulletproof was too complicated for a noob to come up with. I won my first Discord game by bluffing a character that was important to lore but not in the role list, and then claiming a made-up ability that gave me specific information that I also made up. That entire game will live rent-free in my head as long as I live.

I know you aren't a noob, I meant more as a new player to this site and its meta. Bulletproof is more of a claim Id think most players from other sites wouldn't claim as its kind of scummy, but its more common from our communities, and given I was a jailkeeper I thought the balance actually made sense. Anyways time was expiring and you were the largest wagon, which is ultimately why you got lynched, but if it wasn't you it would have been mikal and that would have been a mislynch as well, so I guess it was inevitable lol

Damn just checked Discord and noticed I got caroler results. RationalTheist, Ultracrepidarian, and McDonaldsReal. So scum was cooked either way. as we would have narrowed it down to two once I got back.

POE from the first caroler results already had the last scum to Mcdonalds or ultra anyway, so that wouldn't have changed much with my action at the end lol

Apparently I was a court magician at one point and was forced to lock away Jevil who was the court jester after he went mad, which makes me a jailkeeper.

Btw game should be actually unwinnable for scum unless ultra has some role that can bypass a jailkeeper which I doubt because shining had the role stopper. Casey told me only protection would go off before a night kill no matter what. So theoretically I could just jailkeep ultra infinitely and we’d never lose, if for some reason people didn’t believe the claim lol. No reason to risk a no lynch here mathematically anyway, just saying we could hypothetically no lynch and still win this assuming mafia have no roles that could interfere which I doubt they do lol

I am Seam the jailkeeper. NP1 I jailkept Rex (which is why I basically said he was confirmed when he didn’t know what I was talking about). Np2 I chose Mikal thinking he was scum, which is why I stopped tunneling him last day phase when the night kill went through. Last night I targeted ultra and there was no kill. Ultra is the last scum. Ez win. Numbers wise there is no reason for me to lie and gambit btw you literally just lynch me tomorrow if I’m wrong and we lose.

I could be missing the mark here but it almost feels like such blaring mislynch the more I look at it. If I’m wrong I’ll be happy to have Mis diagnosed this one. I also realize we don’t have the most time. If it’s possible to flip a Mikal lynch here I’d prefer it but I understand if that’s not possible at this point
